Alexander Cipko (born 1941) from the Economic Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences responded to Putin's statement. Mr. Cipko titled his article "Does Russia want to destroy human civilization?" In the past, he supported Putin, helped him consolidate power, and assisted him with propaganda, but today he criticizes him. Cipko was part of the communist elite, and in the article, he writes that he never knew such a crazy person in the Politburo as Putin.
