You can read not only articles about philosophy but also articles about politics and corruption in nature conservation on this portal.
In this article, we will talk about current events in nature conservation and at the Ministry of the Environment. We will also talk about the misinformation that the Ministry of the Environment (MoE) has been spreading recently.
The article is richly sourced with links.
Joint Memorandum of Samuel Vlčan and Ján Budaj
The most significant event that has resonated recently was the joint memorandum of Ministers Ján Budaj and Samuel Vlčan on October 25, 2021, which completely shocked us anti-corruption activists and the entire expert community. Although Ministers Vlčan and Budaj had previously revealed that they were working on a joint memorandum, I personally expected the content of the memorandum to be just some general phrases about cooperation and not such serious statements that could seriously damage Slovak nature.
In the memorandum, only one party made huge compromises: the Ministry of Agriculture. The Ministry of Environment clearly emerged as the winner in the memorandum. Given that the entire expert community and common sense are against the Ministry of Environment, the memorandum is clearly a huge success for the Ministry of Environment and a failure for common sense.
While experts suggest that zoning should take place first and only then should the “reform” of national parks be addressed, the memorandum defines the opposite procedure. The memorandum was signed in a chaotic situation a few days after the head of the forestry section of the ministry , Michal Tomčík, resigned . Michal Tomčík’s resignation did not bode well – even then I knew that the Ministry of Agriculture was in trouble, and so it happened. Minister Vlčan did not consult with experts and acted on his own. Minister Vlčan made a mistake by trying to be on good terms at all costs and not wanting to be angry with extremists from the Ministry of Environment and the aggressive Ján Budaj, who spreads hoaxes wherever he goes. Making compromises and being on good terms with psychopaths like Secretary Juraj Smatana is not right. The only compromise that the Ministry of Environment had to make in this memorandum is that it only talks about the transition of the 4th and 5th degrees of protection in most national parks, on the other hand, the memorandum suggests the expansion of these areas. Minister Vlčan, at the press conference, said a hoax that zoning in TANAP had been completed and based on that, the state forests of TANAP would be transferred to the Ministry of Environment. The opposite is true, zoning in TANAP was not completed. As far as I know, zoning was successfully completed only in the Slovak Paradise.
On TV TA3, Minister Vlčan could not explain argumentatively what such a dubious memorandum was actually good for, and he found it difficult to answer some factual questions from the moderator, who surprisingly had a good overview of the issue. The moderator was more critical of Budaj than Samuel Vlčan.
For me personally, it is a terrifying feeling if the TANAP State Forests, as a well-functioning enterprise without corruption and with very high expertise, were to be transferred to the most corrupt state institution, the State Nature Protection, which has long perceived experts as its greatest enemies. The total devastation of this state enterprise can begin.
Samuel Vlčan scored an own goal. He shocked everyone! He did what no one expected. After very positive statements about foresters and hunters , we expected Vlčan to have understanding for foresters. From one day to the next, he turned 180 degrees. It is particularly shocking that Vlčan acted this way despite the fact that the Ministry of Environment is struggling with ever-increasing scandals, it is an isolated institution without any support from experts, a normal person would be ashamed to shake hands with Budaj in public. And yet, this did not deter Vlčan, and he signed the Judas memorandum.
The support for the deformation of national parks by Vlčana was not deterred by the increasingly negative attitude of the public and public opinion against the fraudsters from the Ministry of the Environment and the growing support for foresters from the public. More and more journalists are beginning to understand and orient themselves in forestry, nature conservation and are beginning to uncover the frauds of Budaj’s people.
Vlčan made this decision despite the constantly weakening political support for the reform. The Sme rodina party also announced its veto of the support for the reform of national parks. Not even that deterred Minister Vlčan from the Judas pact with Budaj. The media also spread disinformation that Boris Kollár was the only one who was against the reform – the opposite is true – the team leader for the environment for SaS, Jarmila Halgašová, several OĽANO MPs, and MPs from the already defunct Za ľudí party are also against it.
It is also sad that Vlčan did not learn from Boris Kollár, who, under immense pressure from common sense, was forced to humiliatingly withdraw signatures from the controversial proposal to deform national parks. Public opinion is increasingly negative towards the Ministry of the Environment, and by April 1, 2022, Vlčan will be under such strong pressure from common sense that he will have to humiliatingly announce at a press conference, similar to Boris Kollár, that he is revoking his promise on the memorandum.
As long as Minister Budaj does not dismiss the psychopath Juraj Smatana from his position, serious negotiations between the two ministries can never take place.
MP Filip Kuffa claims that the deformation of national parks does not have the support of the majority of MPs .
What could have motivated Samuel Vlčan to issue this Judas Memorandum?
There may be several reasons. Vlčan is hierarchically subordinate to Heger and Matovič. Perhaps some senseless order came from them to forcibly reconcile the two ministries. Instead of patiently explaining and negotiating with Heger or Matovič, Vlčan may have decided to servilely obey their orders.
The proof that Minister Vlčan is not free but obediently fulfills the orders of Heger and Matovič is that, against his will, he had to appoint the religion teacher Ján Marosz as the head of the Land Fund.
Furthermore, it is possible that Budaj’s aggressive hoaxes, threats, and blackmail worked on Vlčan. Hoaxes and threats such as: if there is no reform, there will be ecological infringements from the EU , money from the recovery plan will be lost, it will not be possible to draw EU funds for forests, that Budaj has the support of 63 scientists, that people with 100,000 signatures stood up for the reform, and so on.
Another possibility and theory is that Vlčan has an ace up his sleeve and somehow outsmarted Budaj. I wish this version were true.
Ladislav Miko
The modern-day “Vasil Biľak” is Ladislav Miko , head of the European Commission’s representation in Slovakia. He is an informer. Due to his extremist views on ecology, Slovakia has a suspiciously high number of infringement proceedings from the European Commission in the field of ecology. The government does not have the authority to dismiss this saboteur – only the European Commission can dismiss him. Ladislav Miko is an accomplice in scandals involving protected areas of European importance (SKUEV). He responded to me with zero arguments, great nervousness, and many typos – understandably – he does not have a clear conscience for the damage he has caused to the countryside. Due to SKUEV, sheep farming has been destroyed.
Vladimír Šucha will replace the controversial Ladislav Miko , a founding member of WWF Slovakia, and allegedly the ultimate beneficial owner of this non-profit organization. Ladislav Miko allegedly helped WWF obtain EU funds, which is a manifestation of corruption. … I have email correspondence from Ladislav Miko where he presents his eco-terrorist views on non-intervention and where he expresses hatred towards foresters. Thanks to Ladislav Miko, due to his eco-terrorist views, Slovakia has suspiciously many infringements in the field of ecology. He was largely responsible for the reckless expansion of areas of European importance (Natura 2000). I believe that these personnel changes will bring a slight improvement to Slovakia.
Hoaxes of the Ministry of the Environment in recent times
The Ministry of the Environment spreads some hoaxes at almost every press conference or statement by Budaj. There are so many of them that it is not even within our capacity to list them all.
The words hoaxes and disinformation best describe the Ministry of the Environment. I propose renaming the Ministry of the Environment to the Ministry of Disinformation.
Liars and fraudsters. The Ministry of the Environment presented a manipulative press release , which was intended to suggest to the reader that 100,000 people with unreliable electronic signatures supported the proposal for the reform of national parks. They collected signatures for the petition several years ago, and the petition has nothing to do with the reform proposal. Several media outlets also manipulatively interpreted this press release. On the one hand, the fraudster and liar Budaj often claims that he is in favor of continued management in national parks, on the other hand, he contradicts himself and celebrates a petition that is for 10% non-intervention in forests. Budaj has no problem taking a photo with the psychopath Lukáč, who claims that wolves speak 4000 words.
Liars and fraudsters. It took the Ministry of the Environment a long 3 days to publish the list of the alleged 63 “scientists” who supposedly support Budaj. They did not explain why it took so long. The Ministry published the list of these names only after we pointed out on social networks that this list was missing. In the end, we know why they had a problem publishing that “long” list. Out of the amazingly “long” list of names, only five are experts. Only five experts in forest ecosystems, forest ecology. This is not a mass support from the professional community. It would also be fun to check whether all academics really know that they are on this list – with the fraudsters from the Ministry of the Environment, nothing would surprise me.
Anti-corruption investigative activists
I consider it positive that there are anti-corruption activists such as Rudolf Huliak , who draw attention to the embezzlement of public money and EU funds. The money goes to dubious monitoring, not to real nature protection. Not all eco-activists spread disinformation about nature protection out of conviction. It pays to lobby for the idea that the only form of nature protection is non-intervention. You have no responsibility for the area and you can easily get money for doing nothing, for monitoring.
I ask, where are our investigative journalists?
In the case of EU-funded projects where money is invested in monitoring, the temptation for corruption is great. No one can check whether you have done your job honestly. You can make up the numbers or whether the protected animal is thriving or dying out. Instead of going out into the field, you can laze around in the office.
Rudolf Huliak also draws attention to very serious information that a non-profit organization to which the head of the State Nature Protection, Dušan Karaska, is connected, also embezzled subsidies from EU funds. At the very least, it would be good if our wonderfully objective investigative journalists verified this information and contacted Mr. Huliak to find out where he got this information. I am afraid they will not rush into it. Well, it was probably not for nothing that Dušan Karaska said that the main reason for the transfer of land is EU funds, which, as we know, are mostly not obtained by the state nature protection but by NGOs.
Mr. Huliak also has his dark side. In addition to truthful information, he also spreads some unverified or false information in the field of nature protection, which eco-extremists will mercilessly hold against him. Mr. Huliak also decided to found a political party. On the one hand, it is very important that there is a political party that fights for the interests of the countryside and nature, but on the other hand, Mr. Huliak neutralizes all positive qualities by spreading moderate nationalism, pro-Kremlin propaganda and related disinformation, or anti-vaxxerism. Sticking out of Vladimir Putin’s ass is not great. Eco-extremists will harshly hold these mistakes against him.
In any case, Slovakia desperately needs a political party that will unequivocally fight for the interests of the countryside and genuine nature protection, a party that will eliminate corruption and pseudo-environmentalism from nature protection. Such a party does not yet exist, but Slovakia desperately needs it. Nationalist parties, however, will not solve this. I would welcome some decent political parties in this area. Another problem is that no decent political party would want to go into government with a nationalist like Mr. Huliak.
Someone wrote on social media that in France, the countryside united, successfully entered politics, and successfully pushed through their political changes in the interest of the countryside. In this, France should be a role model for Slovakia. I know that in France, the ecoterrorist Minister of the Environment also restricted or banned hunting, and huge protests followed.
Disinformation by journalists
The highest academic authority in the field of forest ecosystems, the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Prof. Ing. Marek Fabrika, PhD., complains that the media reports on the topic of forestry are biased and portray forestry in a negative light.
He probably meant mainly unbalanced reports, where the media did not create a sufficient counterweight of opinion to Minister Budaj and his secretaries regarding the proposal for the “reform” of national parks. Also, the boundless dissemination of misinformation by the media on the topic of nature protection from the Ministry of Environment without the media verifying the truthfulness of the information or balancing it with the opinion of experts.
Primeval forests of Slovakia. Why is it a fraud?
Here it is explained very briefly, simply, and in layman’s terms, so that even a person who is not at all familiar with nature conservation can understand this highly specialized topic.
Top expert on forest ecosystems, Ing. Robert Gombárik, referring to the recognized scientific institution National Forest Centre, claims that OZ Prales is trying to declare non-native spruce monocultures as primeval forests.
I know Robert Gombárik, he is an amazing man with a sincere love for nature. Foresters from all over Slovakia come to him for advice on nature-friendly forest management. Mr. Gombárik has done more for nature than all the employees of the State Nature Protection Service combined!! However, this same man claims that the proposal for the Primeval Forests of Slovakia is a fraud.
Feel free to meet Mr. Gombárik from Nižná Boca in person, he will surely be happy to explain this fraud to you.
Video from the meeting where top expert Robert Gombárik talks about fake primeval forests https://www.mojevideo.sk/video/355b9/spickovy_lesnicky_expert_nalozed_tajomnikom_ministerstva_zp.html
Video: Prales Association. Proof that its boss Martin Mikoláš is a fraud.
https://www.mojevideo.sk/video/32a15/zdruzenie_prales_jeho_sef_martin_mikolas_je_podvodnik.html
All that glitters is not gold! Not everything that has excellent PR marketing behind it is a good thing! Don’t be fooled! This is not about nature protection at all, but about money!
The National Forest Centre is a top scientific institution with top experts in forest ecosystems and ecology. Let’s trust scientific institutions, not dubious NGOs that earn hundreds of thousands to millions of euros from stolen EU funds from Budaj’s ministry!!
I personally am in favour of putting the primeval forests into the 5th degree of protection, but the non-intervention regime already applies today, even without the 5th degree of protection, in many forests that we call protective forests. The government and MPs should vote for the proposal to declare the Primeval Forests of Slovakia only after the National Forest Centre has checked whether they are really primeval forests. Then these genuinely valuable areas can be included in the primeval forests.
As a forester, Mičovský was clearly not in such a hurry with those primeval forests, as he understands significantly more about forest ecosystems than the current minister. On the definition of primeval forests from the perspective of experts: Currently, experts on forest ecosystems consider it very important that genetically native trees grow in the forests or at a given site. Just a few meters change in altitude or a different geological subsoil and spruce is not spruce, and beech is not beech, as they have different genetic properties. Even when planting trees, it is very important for foresters to know where the seed was collected – from what altitude and from what geological and soil type. Also in this video/program, for the first 6 minutes, the chairman of the forestry chamber, Milan Dolňan, says that when non-native spruces from Austria were planted, they no longer have such resistance to the bark beetle. So these topics are closely related to primeval forests: genetic quality and originality of trees when determining a primeval forest. The soil is also analyzed to see if it contains all the fungi and microorganisms as an original primeval forest. The Prales civic association are intentional fraudsters – Mr. Mairán Jasík, despite having a forestry education, intentionally declares as primeval forests what has nothing to do with primeval forests.
Why would Budaj’s proposal for the deformation of national parks do more harm than good?
Here it is explained very briefly, simply, and in layman’s terms, so that even a person who is not at all familiar with nature conservation can understand this highly specialized topic.
Budaj’s reform would seriously damage nature. We can already see how more logging is taking place in national parks and there are more forests destroyed by bark beetles than outside them. The more State Nature Conservation and pseudo-conservation NGOs connected to them, the greater the devastation of nature. Budaj’s reform would strengthen this negative trend. In practice, the reform would mean the expansion of no-intervention areas, where it is forbidden to plant a tree in a forest destroyed by bark beetles because of no-intervention.
Ján Budaj. A bigger scoundrel and boor than Slota, Mečiar, and Fico combined.
Ján Budaj is liked by people and journalists as a symbol of good, as a symbol of the Velvet Revolution. However, the way he started to behave after becoming a politician is the exact opposite.
Slota, Mečiar, and Fico are perceived in the collective consciousness as a symbol of evil, lies, and arrogance.
Ján Budaj is behaving like a crazy psychopath. He attacks the moderator without reason and disgustingly slanders Milan Ovseník . We have never had such an aggressive psychopath in the history of Slovak politics! And the media cowardly keeps silent and does not criticize him! Mečiar, Slota and Fico are indeed a weak imitation of Budaj. Budaj should visit a psychotherapist and get prescribed calming medication. I am sure that any forensic psychiatrist would immediately declare Budaj legally incompetent, as he is very dangerous in politics and can cause enormous damage.
The media should finally wake up and get rid of political correctness and call Budaj by his real name, criticize him as they criticized Slota, Mečiar or Fico. The media have power and if the media do not stand up for the countryside, the countryside will vote for the far right out of frustration or sympathize with anti-vaxxers.
However, Budaj still manages to manipulate a part of the public, especially people who do not understand the highly specialized topic of national parks. Budaj’s press conferences or appearances in shows are just generating lies, which unfortunately the media does not balance and criticize sufficiently. Slota, Fico, and Mečiar are just a very weak imitation in generating Ján Budaj’s hoaxes. For example, in this show , I would find 50 hoaxes and clear lies from Budaj that could be easily refuted .
Ján Budaj has completely lost his mind . He has lost the last shred of his judgment and human dignity . He calls everyone who disagrees with him a member of ĽSNS or Smer. So, according to Budaj’s logic, all foresters and villagers who resisted him are from ĽSNS. I am afraid that if a psychiatrist saw this video, they would want to declare Budaj legally incompetent so that such an aggressive person full of anger would not cause enormous damage to the nation. … Just as a side note, the chairman of the hunting chamber has not been politically active for 5 years. And where are the media? Why are they cowardly silent? When will journalists finally gain the courage to call Budaj by his true name, that he is a dangerous psychopath who is against the nation and needs to be stopped?
Ján Budaj very vulgarly insults the countryside, foresters, and hunters: “he calls them a society of old fools .” It was impossible to hit rock bottom any further! Hatred, hatred, hatred. For this, the media should have properly lynched Budaj.
The greatest shame of Slovakia Ján Budaj is the dumbest minister in the history of the Slovak Republic. Budaj confused the ecological certification of forests PEFC and FSC with non-intervention. PEFC and FSC certification requires leaving a few trees here and there to live out their lives . But that has nothing to do with non-intervention. It is true that IKEA (and other customers) buy wood exclusively from forests with PEFC and FSC certification, and this can be advantageous for foresters because they can sell wood from such certified forests at a higher price. To make matters worse, the head of the highly professional organization PEFC Slovakia, Ing. František Štulajter, CSc., is an extremely strong critic of the madman Budaj and his proposal for the reform of national parks.
Even the President has run out ofpatience with the fools at the Ministry of the Environment. The President vetoed the law on environmental burdens.
Ján Budaj treacherously and maliciously deceived the Minister of Finance Igor Matovič, Prime Minister Eduard Heger and the MPs!!!
Ján Budaj is an even bigger scoundrel and swindler than Vladimír Mečiar! You can find authentic evidence in this video where anti-corruption activist Rudolf Huliak and an opposition MP speak. Budaj knows nothing but lying. The ecoterrorist mafia of dubious NGOs, known for embezzling EU funds for fictitious nature protection, which are controlled by Ján Budaj, will stop at nothing!
Ján Budaj treacherously and maliciously deceived Finance Minister Igor Matovič and Prime Minister Eduard Heger, who, based on his lies, approved his proposal for a “reform” of national parks at the government meeting.
Ján Budaj spat in the face of the Minister of Finance and the Prime Minister. The OLANO parliamentary club should cross-examine Ján Budaj and put its own house in order. The OĽANO parliamentary club itself should propose to dismiss Ján Budaj from his position!
The Ministry of the Environment is trying to get the MPs of the National Council of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Finance to agree by withholding information on how much money a no-intervention policy in the national park would cost. Of course, it would cost a lot of money. The official position of the ministry is that no intervention and damage caused by the bark beetle will cost the state nothing. Finance Minister Matovič would not support Budaj’s reform proposal if Budaj told the truth and admitted how much it would cost! The Ministry of the Environment operates like the ŠtB: full of fraud, intrigues, backstabbing, and lies. Nothing surprises a person anymore with these madmen like Smatana and Budaj.
Budaj’s official position in the government is that the deformation of national parks would cost the state nothing. A clear lie!!
The Ministry of the Environment deceived the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance by claiming that the “reform” would not cost the state budget anything . According to the official website of the Ministry of the Environment, a no-intervention policy in national parks covering ¾ of the territory would cost 374 million euros. While it is true that the draft law does not mention the expansion of the no-intervention policy, the transfer of land would give the Ministry of the Environment unlimited power to expand the no-intervention policy without the approval of parliament or the government. Thus, the ministry would verbally promise not to expand the no-intervention policy, but if it gains power over the territories, the promise will not be kept, and the no-intervention policy will be expanded. It is easy to mislead MPs, the Minister of Finance, and the Prime Minister, who do not understand the issue.
An unknown official from the Ministry of the Environment apologizes on the FB page for Ján Budaj’s overly hateful statement. He tries to diminish the importance and seriousness of his hateful statements. Budaj is a great disgrace to the ministry.
Huge scandal! After the vegetarian bear, Budaj has once again made a fool of himself. He doesn’t even master the elementary school curriculum on the issue of pH acidity. This Budaj blunder was cut from the Ministry of Environment’s Facebook page. Ján Budaj is the dumbest minister in the history of the Slovak Republic. At least he has a first in something. Budaj’s karma for lies and hatred against foresters, hunters, and villagers returned to him in the form of a neurodegenerative diagnosis. It’s high time to retire. Budaj is clearly disoriented, which is a typical symptom of the first stage of Alzheimer’s disease – despite the geologist telling him that these are acidic substances, Budaj claims they are alkaline. A weak, demented minister will be easily exploited by corrupt lobbying groups such as BROZ for their selfish, egoistic goals. The insane corruption and scandals at the ministry are therefore understandable.
Ján Budaj as an ŠtB agent
We, the decent citizens of the Slovak Republic, call on agent Domovník Budaj to resign from the post of minister!! Mr. Budaj, resign!! Budaj was an agent of the secret service ŠtB with the cover name Domovník. Ján Langoš also insisted until the end of his life that Ján Budaj was an agent of ŠtB. It is clear that ŠtB really professionally trained Ján Budaj. The history of Slovak politics has never known such an aggressive liar as Budaj. He surrounded himself with greedy thieves like BROZ and madmen like Juraj Smatana. Budaj masters the art of being able to lie very confidently without batting an eye or changing his voice. The professionals from ŠtB trained him well. Budaj will go down in the dustbin of history as the most scandalous minister who had the most affairs among all politicians in the history of the Slovak Republic.
Something from Budaj’s CV:
- During the last day of the 1990 elections, in which VPN won, Ján Budaj resigned from its candidate list. Information had come from the Federal Ministry of the Interior that his name was registered among the collaborators of the ŠtB.
- In 2005, Budaj aggressively attacked Langoš because he was registered as an agent. In 2006, Ján Langoš died a strange death.
I ask history lovers to search the ŠtB files on Budaj in the UPN and send them to me, so we can learn more. Evil must be compromised.
- For comparison. In the case of Andrej Babiš, it is not so clear whether he was an agent, as there is a special character before the letter A (agent) that could indicate that he was not a full-fledged conscious collaborator. The UPN did not explain what the mysterious character means.
- Ján Budaj vs. Fedor Gál. Gál claims that Budaj himself admitted to being an agent of the ŠtB.
- StB in the Bratislava archive? Big fish got caught in the net.
- Ján Budaj was one of the few ŠtB agents who had the honor of having his files shredded. It’s interesting who had such a strong reason to shred ŠtB files specifically for him.
BROZ – Bratislava Regional Environmental Association
Strange business activities of the environmental association BROZ, which received an incredible 55 million euros from EU funds. Mysterious Cypriot shell companies lease land to BROZ. BROZ is an association close to Ján Budaj and his top subordinates. Who are we paying millions of euros to for the protection of ground squirrels and tortoises? A very interesting discussion with real evidence of how Budaj’s people steal just like Fico’s people and Smer here at the link . Anti-corruption activist and professional expert on EU funds Milan Ovseník questioned BROZ’s hoaxes that the Ministry of Environment has nothing to do with it and that it has no influence on BROZ’s subsidies. While it is true that the EC takes responsibility for subsidies, the Ministry of Environment is an important advisory body on who and whether to allocate subsidies. The EC only passively approves what the Ministry of Environment advises them.
I was blocked on the BROZ FB page after a decent communication. When arguments run out, only censorship and silencing opponents remain. Corrupt people from BROZ, who received an incredible EUR 55 million from the EU for dubious projects, do not have a clear conscience and are afraid.
Challenging some BROZ hoaxes :
- BROZ: “Some of our EU-funded projects extend into Poland and the Czech Republic, which is why we need so much money for this.” Reality: This is demagoguery; it only concerns marginal parts of foreign countries, not large areas.
- BROZ: “We spend money efficiently. We support many farmers.” Reality: The fact that BROZ supports some 10 farmers does not mean that the money was spent efficiently and that the NGO brings real value to society besides embezzlement. Let BROZ publish the number of farmers they supported. … Another authentic witness, the owner of the land affected by BROZ, confirms that the BROZ association behaves non-transparently and does not provide information. Very interesting reading .
- BROZ: “We are not that rich. We share money with, for example, the State Nature Protection.” Reality: The State Nature Protection only gets negligible crumbs from large packages of money. By the way, it is very controversial that a private NGO first obtains money from the EU to then be able to “sponsor” the State Nature Protection or the Faculty of Natural Sciences. An independent state institution ceases to be independent and is indebted to its sponsors.
Another huge BROZ scandal. They are logging forests on their own land . This is not a joke or a hoax. They preach water and drink wine . They violated laws and acted contrary to the forest management plan. The conservation association BROZ illegally cut down trees on their own land. A huge scandal, they deceived the authorities that it was accidental logging, that the trees had dried out, even though the soil is only a few meters from the Danube. So the trees had no reason or way to dry out. In addition, they illegally built illegal black constructions on their forest land, also contrary to the law. Building is allowed on building land, not forest land. If foresters violated the laws in the same way, eco-terrorists would immediately file dozens of criminal complaints against them. It’s sad that investigative journalists have to be replaced by a controversial MP!!! MP Šíbl sharply criticizes accidental logging due to bark beetle in national parks, while when he was vice-chairman of BROZ, the described things happened. Šíbl is a characterless fool who preaches water and drinks wine.
This post by BROZ really amused me. The people from BROZ suffer from great paranoia , a morbid fear, because they don’t have a clear conscience. They have stolen too many EU funds, illegally cut down forests on their own land, and built illegal structures. I watched the video before I read this post, but I didn’t notice any threats there, despite the fact that Marek Soun is a controversial activist.
Interesting links related to BROZ link1 , link2 ,
Other links to the illegal logging scandal, link1 , link2 .
Where were the conservation activists from OZ Vlk and BROZ when developers in TANAP are doing better than ever? Why haven’t the Minister of the Environment, Ján Budaj, and his secretaries, Smatana and Kiča, dismissed the director of TANAP, Pavol Majko, when he gives developers permits for everything? When will Ján Budaj and his secretaries finally resign?
The BROZ affair: burning branches for EUR 5.3 million . What a ” coincidence ” that BROZ is doing better than ever before under Budaj and his secretary Kiča. Under Budaj’s and Kiča’s government, they received 5.5 million for the ground squirrel and 5.3 million for burning branches.
The BROZ association also has its own company , BioRemiz sro
As an anti-corruption activist, I managed to uncover that the pseudo-environmental association Vlk most likely also profits from the embezzlement of EU funds. The associations Vlk and BROZ collaborated on declaring a new reserve. While the BROZ association received generous EU subsidies for finding and declaring new protected areas around Bratislava, the “supplier” collaborator, the Vlk association, also received a financial reward. In nature conservation, subsidies are given for doing nothing, solely for the purpose of declaring new reserves on any random plots of land without any expertise, which demonstrably happened with the new reserve in the Little Carpathians – these are not particularly valuable forests. Let us have strong faith that NAKA will one day also address this type of organized crime.
An interesting media report from 17.08.2020. Ján Budaj met with the ecological giant, oligarch, and chairman of the BROZ association, Tomáš Kušík (light green T-shirt), who received an incredible 55 million from EU funds. The article also includes photo documentation of their meeting. They were probably arranging further corrupt deals. Since the Ministry of Environment has never been as corrupt in the history of Slovakia as it has been under Budaj, the BROZ association received its biggest contracts during this electoral term. I assume that their meeting was neither the first nor the last.
The Union of Non-State Forest Owners has done a great anti-corruption investigative job, replacing the work of investigative journalists and the police. Here it is beautifully explained why the BROZ association founded its own limited liability company. It’s all about money, so they can get subsidies from the PPA for grazing animals. Why is the Ministry of Environment so aggressively pushing for the declaration of meadows as protected areas of European importance against the will of the owners? Again, it’s all about money. The corrupt Ministry of Environment is pushing for dubious lobbying groups like BROZ, who don’t care if they destroy a private owner.
The BROZ association is facing another scandal. The vice-chairman of the Prečín forest association, forest engineer Alojz Kaššák, published the opinion of the chairman of the forest association: the BROZ association carried out illegal tree felling without a permit. They only obtained the permits afterwards. …… …… The BROZ association preaches water and drinks wine. They claim to support local farmers, but specifically in this region, they refused cooperation with local farmers, which the forest association offered them, and claimed that they would find their own farmers for grazing. What was the reason? Probably money.
Some supporters of BROZ claim that apart from stealing, they do nothing unethical. I would like to disabuse such people of this notion. A very serious moral failure of the BROZ association is that it supported the destructive reform of national parks. The reform of national parks is practically only about expanding non-intervention. Despite the fact that BROZ, as the only conservation association, admits other forms of nature protection than non-intervention, I am very surprised that BROZ supported the reform. The reason is very simple. It’s about money. For BROZ, money comes first, then nature protection. It is not for nothing that Mr. Director Karaska said that the only reason for the reform of national parks was that it was only about EU funds. BROZ doesn’t give a damn that we will devastate national parks with non-intervention, the main thing is money.
The Chairman of the Regional Forestry Chamber Bratislava informs about the most sophisticated organized crime in nature protection: specifically, the BROZ association. It seems to me as if the BROZ association also has its people in the police, when they can afford to commit a crime so conspicuously – building an illegal structure in a protected area (§ 299a of the Criminal Code No. 300/2005). As if they were completely sure of their impunity.
(Don’t forget to check out the photos below the article, which were published by Mr. Gombárik).
A brave anti-corruption activist draws attention to the embezzlement of EU funds by the BROZ association, which is also assisted by Budaj’s people at the ministry. Just as a matter of interest, zoologist Assoc. Prof. Marcel Uhrin has a decent number of professional publications focused on the European pond turtle . I wouldn’t put my hand in the fire for Mr. Uhrin, whether he also profits from this corruption. Mr. Uhrin became famous for his vulgar statements towards hunters and for spreading misinformation about hunters feeding bears.
…. By the way, this also shocked me. First, the head of BROZ, Tomáš Kúšik, draws up a turtle rescue program for the State Nature Protection as an official document, and then he takes subsidies for it. I really can’t imagine a more blatant, conspicuous, exemplary case of clientelism, conflict of interest, and corruption. Of course, the head of BROZ will draw up the rescue program in such a way that as much as possible can be stolen from it and that it is as difficult as possible to control.
By the way, it’s very interesting how Marcel Uhrin has changed and turned 180 degrees. In 2017, Marcel Uhrin had exactly the same opinion as me, that all nature protection is just about corruption and the State Nature Protection is so rotten that nothing would happen if it were abolished. Now, when they are stealing like magpies at the Ministry of Environment and stealing even more than under SMER, when Budaj does nothing but constantly break new ground, suddenly Marcel Uhrin defends corruption in nature protection. Well, it’s interesting what was the driving force for Marcel Uhrin to change so much and undergo such a radical conversion. Perhaps after 2017, he switched to the other side – the side of corruption, when he started to profit from it. By the way, Budaj only completed the corruption schemes that previous governments (e.g., SMER) built before him and manages the ministry with an even more aggressive corrupt direction.
Anti-corruption activist M. Ovseník on the corrupt activities of Marcel Uhrín. The name MARCEL UHRÍN already appeared in 2013 in the 8 million project Monitoring of Habitats and Species of European Importance, where this name is listed in the List of Authorized Persons in the List of Experts – expert for BATS – the payment there was 150 Euros per hour.
The Vice-Chairman of BROZ, Pavol Littera, is also an employee of the Slovak Academy of Sciences . This is a big problem because it is a conflict of interest and there is a great temptation for subsidy fraud. The ultimate beneficiary of generous subsidies and a scientific researcher should never be the same person. You submit a falsified scientific study to the EU Commission, claiming that a protected species is on the verge of extinction, and you request subsidies for its rescue. The EU Commission approves the LIFE subsidy for you based on the falsified study. Not to mention that as a scientific researcher, you can be in the position of checking yourself during the EU Commission’s inspection to see if certain work has been done in the project. You steal money from the EU and then conduct another scientific study, claiming that the protected species miraculously started to thrive again after the project was implemented, and you will be seen as a good person in the EU for your association’s amazing results.
The BROZ Association wrote on its FB page on 15.6.2022 that it is looking for a fundraiser for a new job position. The BROZ Association has fabulous revenues from EU funds, so I consider it hyenism that they are also begging for money from sponsors. It is unethical. They stole a lot of money and still make themselves out to be poor.
The BROZ association shocked with another video . In this video, at 01:21, you can see a guy in the foreground, Juraj Smatana, who is the most influential secretary at the Ministry of Environment. The secretary of the ministry at a private event of the oligarchic group BROZ. Even the Smer party did not have such conspicuous affairs. This is similar to Robert Fico being at a private event of the oligarch Juraj Široký and even boasting about it on the Dopravstavu FB page. Perhaps Mr. Secretary Smatana and BROZ were discussing how they would redistribute the money from the recovery plan, which the Ministry of Environment had been allocated in the largest amount. Well, Mr. Secretary Smatana at least saw with his own eyes how money is stolen – for a lot of money, little work was done. Most of the money was stolen. Let the BROZ association show transparency and publish its accounting so that we know what percentage of the money was stolen.
1.5 km of canal for 5 million euros, although the real price is about 100 thousand.
Why did Ján Budaj change the directors of the state-owned companies Vodohospodárska Výstavba and Slovenský vodohospodársky podnik as one of the first things he did at the ministry? (These state-owned companies belong to the Ministry of the Environment). Why was this the absolute top priority for Budaj? This happened because the ministry is managed by the BROZ association. BROZ demands regular simulation of floods on the Danube. In reality, BROZ is not primarily concerned with nature protection but with selfish interests, as they have a super business from nature protection. They can show the EU Commission that they have some results. This is quite a terrifying and sad proof that the one who manages the ministry is not Budaj but the oligarchic group BROZ, which received subsidies of at least 55 million euros. It was necessary to appoint a director obedient to the BROZ association. Both state-owned companies also assist in other projects of the BROZ association besides the stimulated floods.
Other dubious subsidies in connection with BROZ and others
After all, the approved roadmap until 2030 (including costs) is followed, e.g.:

Direct evidence of corruption: In the very first months of his rule, Budaj poured 11 million euros to his people from BROZ. The media cowardly keeps silent.
Direct evidence that Ján Budaj is the most corrupt Minister of the Environment in the history of Slovak politics!!! They are stealing like magpies at the ministry!!! Ján Budaj didn’t even have time to warm his seat before he managed to pour 11 million EUR to his people. This happened in the first months of the government. Such insane and overly conspicuous clientelism in such huge sums has never happened in the history of Slovak politics!!
Ján Budaj has very clear connections to the “environmental” association BROZ. Ján Budaj and MP Šíbl are members of the “Change from Below” party, which ran in the elections under the wing of OĽANO. Jaromír Šíbl is the ultimate beneficial owner and long-time vice-chairman of the BROZ association.
It is true that the BROZ association received subsidies even before Budaj, but the association never did as well as it did under Budaj. Only after we, anti-corruption activists, started shouting very loudly, this excessive generous payment of subsidies was stopped.
The State Secretary of the Ministry of the Environment, Michal Kiča, who is in charge of the European Funds section at the Ministry, previously worked for the BROZ association. So the conflict of interest is more than clear.
- On March 21, 2020, Ján Budaj became a minister.
- On 15 July 2020, Michal Kiča became the secretary.
- On September 1, 2020, the European Commission, under immense lobbying and clientelist pressure from the Ministry of the Environment, approved two projects for the BROZ association worth 5.4 million for the ground squirrel and 5.3 million for a project near Bratislava.
It is very sad that the media supports this corruption and does not point it out, although the evidence is clear. Can you imagine what a media frenzy it would be if the minister nominated by SME-Family poured 11 million into his company in the first days of his government?
The LIFE program’s EU funds work in such a way that 75% is reimbursed by the EU and 25% by the Slovak Republic or the Ministry of the Environment. Therefore, the decision on who receives the EU funds is made based on a mutual agreement between the European Commission and the Ministry. It is not true what the Ministry and BROZ say, that the Ministry has nothing to do with it.
Another reason why Minister Budaj and his secretaries should immediately resign is their failure to address environmental burdens. When it comes to the business of “our people,” they are very active at the ministry – the amazing skill of Secretary Michal Kiča, who, in the first months of the government, poured 11 million to his friends from BROZ in record time, and the amazing skill in the “reform” of national parks that will facilitate the theft of EU funds. It’s a pity they are not as skilled in solving environmental burdens as they are in the business of “our people.”

Excerpts from the communication between the Ministry of the Environment and anti-corruption activists:
Statement of the Ministry of the Environment: “ The submission and approval of projects took place in 2019 when Minister Ján Budaj was not yet in the position of Minister of the Environment. You can verify this at this link”: https://ec.europa.eu/easme/en/section/life/2019-calls-proposals “>https://wayback.archive-it.org/12090/20210412164258/ https://ec.europa.eu/easme/en/section/life/2019-calls-proposals
I will also comment on the message you sent me: Some dates from 2019, which are listed there, are the last, latest date when it was possible to register a project there. It has nothing to do with the approval date. The claim that there would be a difference of up to one year between the approval date and the implementation date also sounds extremely controversial. That really makes no sense.
And I also managed to find direct evidence that the projects in which BROZ was to be involved were approved only in June 2020. February 2020 was the latest date for submitting a project proposal: https://ec.europa.eu/easme/en/section/life/2019-life-call-proposals-traditional-projects-nature-and-biodiversity”>https://wayback.archive-it.org/12090/20210412231030/ https://ec.europa.eu/easme/en/section/life/2019-life-call-proposals-traditional-projects-nature-and-biodiversity
So Mr. Kiča had enough time to lobby the European Commission to approve BROZ’s projects. It’s a pity that Mr. Kiča has misguided priorities – he actively lobbies for his people from BROZ, but he doesn’t fight as hard to get money for removing environmental burdens.
By the way, the vast majority of all LIFE grants that could be applied for since 2019 were approved only in 2020!!!!!
And given that 25% of the project is financed by the Ministry of the Environment , it is clear that without the consent of the Ministry of the Environment, BROZ could not receive any subsidies.
You are lying that the Ministry of the Environment (MoE) has no influence on the approval of projects. The MoE is an official commenting entity for LIFE grant projects. Furthermore, you are pretending that the MoE is not in contact with the European Commission, and therefore has no influence on the approval of projects, which is absurd. Are you making fun of me and the Prime Minister for good?
Another person who corruptly helped Kič and Budaj secure subsidies for BROZ was the well-known corrupt fixer, Ladislav Miko, who headed the European Commission’s representation in Slovakia. He even managed to secure subsidies for his own organization, WWF Slovakia, which is why he recently had to resign from his position. As anti-corruption activists, we also contacted the police and the prosecutor’s office on an “ex officio” basis, but they refuse to deal with “our people”. Thank God, it is now much harder to secure corrupt EU funds because Miko has been replaced by Mr. Vladimír Čucha, to whom, thankfully, you no longer have such direct corrupt ties.
A well-known, verified corruption method for fraudulently obtaining subsidies for nature protection is that NGOs first scare the European Commission with a hoax that a certain habitat is acutely endangered and needs to be addressed immediately. Many subsidies have been obtained this way. This was also the case with the ground squirrel or capercaillie project.
It’s interesting that in the minister’s office you have the same defense strategy as the BROZ association. The similarity is purely “coincidental”. But it’s no secret that Ján Budaj is a helpless servant of this powerful oligarchic group, which has received at least 55 million in subsidies, which is an astronomical sum for a “non-profit” civic association.
The BROZ association has appointed its own person to the Water Management Construction company.
From the BROZ Facebook page : From our ranks 🙂 Today, the Minister of the Environment, Ján Budaj, appointed Ján Jenčo as the new Director General of the Slovak Environmental Inspectorate – SIŽP. Jano was our colleague until yesterday 🙂 and we are very happy that this institution has been given such a capable person to lead it. Ján Jenčo, we wish you all the best, much strength, enthusiasm, professional success, and excellent colleagues!
I have evidence that the BROZ association more or less manages the entire ministry, while the BROZ association are very greedy people for money and at the ministry they primarily pursue their egoistic business interests.
Huge scandal!! Minister Ján Budaj is controlled by the Bratislava underworld!! The BROZ association illegally draws subsidies from the Ministry of Agriculture for state land on Kopáč Island (Danube Floodplains Protected Landscape Area). These are mafia practices. They fraudulently draw subsidies for forest land, which is intended for grassland. This is a similar case to when the “Countess of Zemplín” drew agricultural subsidies for an airport. The Dobytkár case is just a weak coffee compared to BROZ. I demand that the police act! § 225 Subsidy fraud of the Criminal Code – punishable by up to 5 years in prison. I believe that one day the people from BROZ, Tomáš Kúšik and Jaromír Šíbl, will end up where they belong: behind bars in Leopoldov. Criminals must not laugh in our faces!!
The influence of the BROZ association on the management of the Ministry of Environment is enormous. For a long time, I didn’t understand the huge mystery of why Ján Budaj’s absolute top priority was to replace the head of Vodohospodárska Výstavba (VV), a state-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Environment. It eventually turned out that behind it all were the selfish business interests of the BROZ association. It’s unbelievable, but the head of VV was replaced on June 23, 2020, which is 4 months and one week earlier than the head of the State Nature Protection ! Very strange priorities!! The Gabčíkovo waterworks also falls under VV. The BROZ association admits on its Facebook page that they lobby for regular flooding of the Danube forests, and only VV can cause floods. I have nothing against flooding the forests; the problem is that BROZ receives extremely generous EU subsidies for the Danube forests and makes a fantastic business out of it. They are only pursuing their selfish business interests. It’s clear that BROZ needed to install their own person in VV who would obey them to the letter. The new head of VV, for the first time in the history of the Gabčíkovo waterworks, simulated floods in the floodplain forests to a greater extent.
So this is valuable evidence for the police. Ján Budaj voluntarily admits to being a servant and slave of the egoistic corrupt business interests of pseudo-environmental associations such as BROZ. Ján Budaj obeys his masters to the letter: the BROZ association ordered him to appoint the dubious businessman with a mafia background, Vladimír Kollár, to the position of Vodohospodárska výstavba, and he obeyed them. The mafia member Vladimír Kollár honestly assists the BROZ association in their egoistic business interests. I believe in the victory of good, truth, and justice, and that one day Ján Budaj will be arrested by the NAKA police and will serve a just sentence in Leopoldov prison. Budaj expresses disappointment that people from the countryside, from the regions, who have a connection to nature, have resisted him.
The head of the Environmental Inspectorate, Ján Jenčo. Who is he?
This is a former employee of the BROZ association who, immediately after resigning from the BROZ association, became the head of the inspection. A former employee of the association, which non-transparently obtained at least 55 million in subsidies. After Budaj took office, the Ministry of the Environment was completely taken over by the private association BROZ. Ján Jenčo is a person with very close ties to BROZ and is in a conflict of interest. The BROZ association commits offenses and crimes such as illegal construction in a protected area or illegal logging in two cases. The BROZ association needs to have its person in the ministry to cover up their violations of the law.
Denník N published an interview with Jenčo, where Jenčo talks about the bizarre role of a “double agent”. Jenčo claims that he was simultaneously an employee of the Environmental Inspectorate and the police. We do not know the details of the case from the media , but it seems to me as if Jenčo provoked the lawyer to give him a bribe, which is extremely unethical and can be considered morally as hyenism.
Ján Jenčo also became famous in another dirty game, namely in the Podhájska spa case. The Podhájska spa was closed for several months because the thermal water exceeded the radiation level. The measurements were made by the Environmental Inspectorate. Ján Budaj openly stated in a press conference that the spa was dangerously radioactive. In the end, it turned out to be a huge blunder and a huge mistake – it was about exceeded limits for drinking water, not spa water. The spa is absolutely safe and healing. Jenčo and Budaj committed a serious crime because the spa suffered huge financial damage.
The “amazing” results of Ján Jenčo can be seen in these videos from the village of Horné Srnie, where the cement plant burns waste in technologically outdated furnaces that exceed the limits of particles and pollution. I sent a message to the Secretary of the Ministry, Kič, who told me that he would forward the problem to the Environmental Inspectorate. The results are that the cement plant is still spewing carcinogenic smoke over the entire village, and nothing has changed. My opinion is that the people from the Environmental Inspectorate or the Ministry received a bribe to do nothing.
More links about Jenčo. Link1 , link2 . Ján Jenčo himself voluntarily admits that he was a member of the organized criminal group BROZ. Also, in the second photo on his FB account, Jenčo himself admits how he was on a private trip with Jenčo in Zázrivá. Clear proof that no transparent selection procedure for the head of the inspection took place. It was just a show. A close friend of Secretary Kičo won the selection procedure as a pre-known winner. VIDEO Fico opened the topic of subsidies for Vlčan’s company: “StB agent” Budaj sent him 1.4 million euros!
Is the police harassing an anti-corruption activist with a fabricated or purposeful accusation ?
Let the chips fall where they may. I have no reason to defend MP Filip Kuffa, whose anti-vaxxer, pro-Kremlin stance I find objectionable, but something really smells fishy here. It would be nothing strange if the police were not investigating the most prominent anti-corruption activist in Slovakia, who exposed the Augean stables and many corruption and clientelist cases in Budaj’s environmental ministry. As an independent anti-corruption analyst and activist who verifies every piece of information, I can confirm that Filip Kuffa did not spread any false or unverified information regarding the affairs in nature protection and Budaj’s ministry. It is also extremely unusual that the police are reopening an investigation after about 10 years on the same matter. I try to be an optimist and hope that it is not true, that it is really just a coincidence. Filip Kuffa exposed very serious criminal offenses of the pseudo-environmental association BROZ (illegal constructions and illegal logging), which would have a reason to take revenge on him. I would not be surprised if the powerful oligarchic group BROZ had its tentacles in the police and the judiciary. Corruption, organized crime and lobbying in the field of pseudo-ecology and pseudo-nature protection is extremely sophisticated and extremely strong, not only in Slovakia. And in Western Europe, nature protection is about the same as in Slovakia; in Western states, EU funds are stolen just as much as in Slovakia under the guise of nature protection. In Western European countries, there is generally much less corruption than in Slovakia, but in nature protection, corruption is the same as in Slovakia.

Public opinion poll vs. national parks
A public opinion poll on the reform of national parks was commissioned by foresters and the My sme les (We are the forest) initiative. The results were very different. The public opinion poll commissioned by Lesmedium focused on people from the regions affected by the national parks, and it turned out that the majority of people were against Budaj’s reform proposal. The public opinion poll commissioned by My sme les focused on the whole of Slovakia, and the result was that the majority of people are in favour of the reform of national parks and the majority are against logging in national parks. It is questionable whether the My sme les initiative concealed several important pieces of information about the methodology or the exact wording of the survey questions, because with these half-wits, anything is possible. National parks are a highly specialised and very complex topic (although at first glance the lay public may think that it is a simple issue) and this topic belongs to experts, not the general public. The Ministry of Health will not conduct a public opinion poll on what treatment methods a doctor should use for a particular diagnosis. If My sme les conducted a public opinion poll among the professional community of people with forestry education, focusing on forest ecosystems, 99% of experts would express opposition to the reform of national parks.
“We are the forest” exploits the public’s ignorance on this issue. The lay public does not understand the professional issues and does not know the history that all national parks were created with the aim of being managed forests. When each national park in Slovakia was established, it was expected that they would be actively managed forests with small no-intervention areas. We cannot lightly and without professional discussion, with a snap of the fingers, turn managed forests into no-intervention areas when they were not designated for that. While the lay public imagines devastation of nature when it comes to timber harvesting, a forester with an education in forest ecosystems sees active care for nature and its improvement behind gentle harvesting and nature-friendly management. A managed forest is more attractive for tourism and recreation, provides more biodiversity, variety, higher tree and ecological values than a no-intervention forest. This is a matter of course for foresters who are experts on forest ecosystems, but a great unknown for the lay public. Therefore, we cannot be surprised that the manipulative public opinion poll with suggestive questions turned out as it did. It was no surprise. The public opinion poll was commissioned by the National Forestry Centre . Most people do not believe the untruths spread by the disinformation campaign of the “We are the forest” initiative that a no-intervention regime is beneficial for nature and that planting trees by foresters is something bad. I hereby call on Ján Budaj and his secretaries to resign from their functions in the public interest, because most people disagree with their political ideology. It is sad that the government approved the new Vydrica reserve against the public interest.
The deformation of national parks was approved in parliament. Analysis of this event. (14.12.2021)
One of the darkest events in the history of Slovakia. How do I perceive this situation? It is unbelievable and hard to understand how something can pass in parliament that is completely against common sense and that the whole of Slovakia does not want, except for 75 MPs in Bratislava who are detached from reality. As a person who has a sincere relationship and love for nature, as an activist who fights against disinformation and corruption in nature protection, my heart is breaking from grief and sadness. Until the last moment, I believed that good, truth, and common sense would prevail. I honestly cannot imagine how the well-functioning and highly professional State Forests of TANAP will pass into the hands of total psychopaths from the Ministry of the Environment, who will decimate this enterprise.
The amendment passed only thanks to the fraud, intrigues, lies, intimidation, and blackmail of Ján Budaj and his people. The amendment will certainly not bring a blessing but a curse and problems to the Ministry of the Environment. It is not possible to force something from Bratislava when people in the regions do not want it. Experts say that Budaj’s amendment is contrary to other laws – Budaj did not realize that this amendment would only bring him problems and he would eat his own bitter fruit.
How did Ján Budaj blackmail and intimidate MPs? He spread the hoax that without the reform we would not get money from the recovery plan, he spoke the hoax that our forests would dry up without the reform and we would lose groundwater sources, which is a completely crazy idea from a professional point of view.
I don’t have this as verified information, but I read on social media that Budaj threatened to resign if the amendment didn’t pass. The government was also said to be in danger of falling.
From the media, we know Budaj as an aggressive boor. I assume he had a similar way of communicating with Eduard Heger. I would compare the relationship between Heger and Budaj to a small child in a store who throws himself on the ground and makes a fuss with his crying, because his parent refuses to buy the child’s favorite toy. The parent doesn’t want to be embarrassed in front of others in the store, so to stop these comedies, to stop everyone from looking at the noisy child, to calm the situation, he buys the toy for the child anyway. Heger symbolizes the parent, Budaj symbolizes the child, and the toy symbolizes the national parks. Heger is blackmailed by the aggressive and noisy Budaj, who threatens to resign. Heger always gives in to Budaj, just to have peace in the government at all costs. In a conflict between Budaj and Vlčan, Heger always sides with the aggressive Budaj to keep the peace. Heger also forced Vlčan, under very humiliating circumstances, to sign a controversial memorandum of cooperation with Budaj, where Budaj is given in to in everything and Vlčan’s demands are not taken into account.
How did this law pass at all? MP Halgašová (SaS), who was against this reform, was mentally broken and eventually voted for the proposal. I really regret that I did not communicate more with this MP. She certainly needed psychological support to have the strength to go against the current.
The opposition and Sme rodina tried to block the reform by not participating in the vote by pulling out their cards, in order to reduce the quorum so that it would not be possible to vote on it. Here, the old grandpa Ján Mičovský panicked, and either intentionally or by mistake, he joined the voting and then voted against it. Because of one single vote of Ján Mičovský, the law could be voted on! One single vote decided the fate of the national parks.
What will be the consequences of the deformation of national parks? The law will bring even greater tension and division to society than before. The countryside feels unheard by politicians and Bratislava. Distrust in state institutions is already a big problem, which is negatively reflected, for example, in the COVID crisis. Now, distrust in the state will deepen even further. The frustration of the countryside that the state and politicians decided to go against common sense and against the countryside will cause rural people, either out of protest or despair, to vote for the far-right, which listens to the regions more than the so-called decent political parties.
Another very dangerous thing that will happen with the deformation of national parks is that no intervention will be declared on state land, and the private owner will be blocked from accessing their land to take measures against the bark beetle. The access road will be in the fifth degree of protection, and no machinery will be able to pass through.
It is also interesting how the rhetoric of politicians changed before and after the approval of the law. Before the approval of the law, Ján Budaj cursed experts who, during its reform, spoke about the expansion of territories as fascists, anti-vaxxers, and spreaders of disinformation. After the approval of the law, Prime Minister Heger triumphantly declared on his Facebook account that the reform of national parks would bring the expansion of no-intervention zones. Similarly, Budaj publicly stated many times that hunting would not be restricted in national parks. Well, by expanding no-intervention zones, hunting will be restricted. In the fifth degree of protection, hunting is prohibited. Christians are forbidden to cheat. But Heger is a false Christian. Heger supports these intrigues of Budaj.
Jožo Pročko also swore very passionately, eagerly and enthusiastically in the parliament that the deformation of national parks would not bring about the expansion of non-intervention. However, Prime Minister Heger corrected him after the vote. The deceived MPs did not even know what they were voting on.
Similarly, MP Zemanová swore on her Facebook that there would be no expansion of non-intervention.
Well, when they catch a bird, they sing to it nicely.
Minister Vlčan made a big mistake by not communicating and negotiating with Heger much more. He made a mistake by not taking a sharper stance against Budaj, and he will bitterly regret this huge mistake; he will be sorry for what he caused by his passivity. In contrast, Budaj communicated and negotiated with Heger extremely actively.
One of the reasons why this travesty passed through parliament is that the MPs who are opponents of the national park reform did not even try to negotiate and communicate with either the undecided or the non-affiliated coalition MPs. The other side, however, was very active in persuading and negotiating.
Another reason why the deformation passed through parliament is that foresters and forestry organizations started engaging in civic activism and protests too late. Practically only in the last six months. In contrast, pseudo-environmental organizations have a significant head start and have been operating for 5 to 25 years. Politics is still running on inertia.
Voting of Members from an Ethical Perspective
How is it possible that MPs could vote against their conscience for such a travesty against the public interest and against nature? I don’t understand how MPs can even look in the mirror after such a vote, because they cannot have a clear conscience. MPs who voted for this travesty will not be able to afford to visit the affected regions, they will not be able to visit national parks, because they will only face the righteous anger of the locals. Many MPs who voted under pressure against their conscience went to the toilet to vomit because they felt sick from the enormous damage their vote would bring to nature and the regions.
Many MPs, when in one, three, five or ten years they understand and realize what they actually voted for, will bitterly cry over themselves for what they have caused and they will be very, very sorry.
Every human is also a very egoistic being. Everyone prefers their own comfort over the public interest. In connection with national parks, the fall of the government was also discussed. MPs would rather vote for a travesty than face early elections where they would not be sure if they would get into parliament in the future. An MP receives a salary of 3000 euros, which is a very decent amount of money. Some MPs, such as Juraj Šeliga, justify their irresponsible behavior by saying that government stability is paramount – for the greater good, we will vote even for a travesty, just to have peace and stability.
Many MPs have also been very negligent; for convenience, they were not willing to study the issue further and did not bother to listen to both sides of the opinion and voted without even understanding the issue at all.
It is also very uncomfortable to be a black sheep and a rebel in the party who will vote against. Every person is an egoist for whom personal comfort is more than the public interest.
We know of at least one MP, Mária Šofranko of OĽANO, who voted for the law against her conscience.
Why the Ministry of the Environment has created huge problems for itself
There is no reason for the ministry to rejoice. The state forests of TANAP will be dismantled, all their employees who disagree with the madmen from the ministry will be dismissed. The rest will resign voluntarily because they will no longer be able to watch those madmen from the ministry and the corruption in the State Nature Protection, which is the most corrupt institution.
In the countryside, the tension is really huge. People from the regions are not stupid, they know very well that the ministry has been taken over by madmen, and these people would rather starve to death than be employed through the Ministry of the Environment. People know very well that this ministry has been taken over by madmen and that the State Nature Protection is the most corrupt institution and has done more harm than good in the history of its existence.
Politicians’ reactions to the transfer of national parks: Patrick Linhart link1 , link2 , Filip Kuffa link2 , Miroslav Suja
The reform of national parks did not comply with the government’s program statement, according to the Slovak Forestry Chamber .
How the MEPs voted .
Prime Minister Eduard Heger expressed his joy that hunting and forestry will be restricted in national parks. He says that the reform of national parks, which was approved in parliament, will lead to the expansion of no-intervention zones, and in no-intervention zones, hunting and professional forestry care are prohibited.
It’s interesting how the rhetoric of politicians changed before and after the law was approved. Before the law was approved, Ján Budaj cursed experts who, during its reform, spoke about expanding no-intervention zones as disseminators of disinformation; after the law was approved, Prime Minister Heger says the opposite. Similarly, Budaj publicly stated many times that hunting would not be restricted in national parks. After the law was approved, politicians started saying something else. Well, when they’re trying to catch a bird, they sing sweetly to it.
The representative of the forestry organization , Pavel Zacharovský , claims that MP Juraj Gyimesi sharply criticized the parliamentary proposal and passionately swore that he would find 8 MPs in the OĽANO parliamentary club who would vote against it. Why this MP changed his mind by 180 degrees remains a mystery. Who knows what intrigues, bribes, and blackmail were behind it.
After immense pressure from anti-corruption activist Milan Ovseník, the State Nature Protection finally declassified the secret study by the Faculty of Forestry on the economic impact of non-intervention in the Muránska planina National Park. After complicated obstructions , Budaj’s deformation of national parks was approved on the basis that Ján Budaj had deceived the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance, claiming that the deformation of national parks would not cost the state budget anything (this was also the reason for keeping this study secret). However, the scientific study by the Faculty of Forestry states that the expansion of non-intervention (which the Ministry of Environment does not hide) is a very expensive matter. In the history of Slovak politics, I do not know a greater scoundrel than Ján Budaj, who does not hesitate to arrogantly deceive and betray members of his own party: the Minister of Finance and the Prime Minister – in the service of dubious narrow interest “environmental” groups. https://privlesy.sk/quo-vadis-muranska-planina-quo-vadis-slovenske-lesy/
PS: when the MPs voted on national parks, democracy failed. Therefore, the electoral system should be changed as proposed by ZMOS: a multi-constituency electoral system to strengthen the importance of regions and weaken Bratislava
Mr. Ovseník requested that the analysis of the Faculty of Forestry be made available to him based on the Freedom of Information Act, but they were reluctant for a long time and created huge obstructions. The employees of the Nature Conservation Agency committed the criminal offense of abuse of power by a public official because they did not publish the analysis in time. The employees of the Nature Conservation Agency theoretically face several years in prison for this violation of the law.
Update 28.8.2022 . The deformation of national parks . At first, the madmen at the ministry claimed that the expansion of no-intervention zones was a hoax / a lie by extremists and the timber lobby. Today, the reality. If politicians’ lies were a crime, Ján Budaj and his secretaries Smatana and Kiča would already be in jail. Many MPs voted for the deformation of national parks only because Budaj promised them that no-intervention zones would not be expanded. A lie has short legs. National parks will turn into Bohemian Switzerland. Read carefully what the madmen at the Ministry of Environment said on 2.11.2021 and what they said on 13.07.2022. Karma exists. God’s mills grind slowly but surely. So far, Ján Budaj has achieved nothing but lies.
The deformation of national parks is clearly the biggest fraud in the history of Slovak politics. Never in the history of Slovakia has it happened that MPs were deceived by their own minister and their own MP in such a serious matter. Ján Budaj repeatedly stated in the media that the deformation of national parks has nothing to do with the expansion of no-intervention zones. Experts who pointed out that no-intervention zones would be expanded by the deformation were labeled by Budaj as hoax spreaders and insulted as extremists. On July 13, 2022, Budaj’s ministry announced the zoning of the Muránska planina national park, where no-intervention zones are radically expanding. The humiliatingly misused MP Jozef Pročko was also deceived by the fraudster Jaromír Šíbl, who has experience with embezzling EU funds, that no-intervention zones would not be expanded. Ján Budaj and his corrupt entourage are leading national parks to the same ruin as Bohemian Switzerland, and it is only a matter of time before this happens.
Lobbyist Jaromír Šíbl is an influential oligarch and MP for the OĽANO party, who was a long-time vice-chairman of the pseudo-environmental corrupt lobbying association BROZ. He is the current ultimate beneficial owner of the association, which under dubious circumstances obtained dubious subsidies from EU funds amounting to at least an astronomical 55 million euros. The BROZ association is rightly called an oligarchic group, because there are few companies in Slovakia that have received EU funds in such a large amount, let alone a “non-profit” association. The OĽANO party won the elections on the slogan of fighting corruption and oligarchs, but the OĽANO party cannot get rid of the oligarch Šíbl and cannot rid the Ministry of Environment of corruption, which is demonstrably the most aggressive in the history of the ministry. It is therefore logical that the preferences of the OĽANO party have plummeted since the elections.
The BROZ association preaches water and drinks wine . On the one hand, the BROZ association and MP Šíbl very aggressively lobbied for the expansion of non-intervention in national parks, Šíbl sharply criticizes the so-called accidental logging of bark beetle-infested trees in national parks, on the other hand, we have evidence that they preach water and drink wine. BROZ carried out illegal accidental logging on its own land in the Bratislava region, although it can also be done legally. BROZ probably has its people in the police, they are influential oligarchs, so they can afford it.

The non-intervention regime is an incorrect form of nature protection.
Delusional amateur “nature protectors”, activists, and ecoterrorists, such as the “We are the Forest” initiative, recognize only one form of nature protection in forests, and that is non-intervention. They cite the Bavarian National Park or Austria as an example.
When advocating for non-intervention, amateur activists argue that, according to the criteria of the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources), it is essential that at least 75% of the national park’s area be non-intervention. This is a demagogic argument because the IUCN also allows a nation-state to determine what percentage of non-intervention it wants in a national park, and this can be significantly less than 75%. Furthermore, it should be noted that the IUCN is not part of the UN or the EU. It is just an ordinary private non-governmental organization, and the recommendations of this organization are not binding for Slovakia in any way, as eco-activists try to present them. The EU also does not order Slovakia to follow the recommendations of this private NGO. What is absolutely shocking is that the IUCN had a financial profit of 148 million EUR for 2019. Well, nature conservation is a great business. The professional level of the IUCN could also be doubted. It should also be said that several forestry organizations, despite being opponents of eco-activists, allowed themselves to be drawn into the rhetoric around IUCN criteria and promote so-called natural parks, which do not require non-intervention – however, promoting natural parks is quite foolish from a marketing perspective, and the lay public does not understand it.
Regardless of the IUCN organization, the so-called zoning in national parks is very important because national parks in Slovakia operate illegally on non-state land from the socialist era without the consent of their owners. The legalization of the functioning of national parks is therefore important. However, most private owners have had bad experiences with nature protection, as many governments promised them financial compensation for the fact that state authorities forced them to let their property be devastated by a non-intervention regime during the spread of the bark beetle, but in reality they received no money, or the compensation was ridiculous. It is naive to think that it will be any different with the current leadership of the Ministry of Environment, when it has been taken over by total lunatics and eco-terrorists.
Why is the no-intervention regime the wrong form of nature conservation?
- It is a mistake to proceed from the philosophy that man does not belong to nature. Nature requires human care.
- A living green forest is more attractive to tourists and for recreation than a dead forest consumed by bark beetles, where the sun beats down on your head during hot weather and there is no shade.
- It is against the public interest for the Ministry of the Environment to make policies only for one percent of fools who claim that a dead forest with dead wood is more valuable than a green forest.
- Initially, after the 2004 calamity, ecoterrorists claimed that nature would cope on its own. Then, when it became clear that their experiment was not working and the bark beetle began to spread uncontrollably, instead of humbly admitting that their experiment had failed, they changed their rhetoric and began to argue that dead wood, a dead forest, provides more biodiversity and has a higher ecological value than a green forest (a very common argument of Erik Baláž and co.).
- meadows, meadow communities, which conservationists so passionately protect, were created by human intervention, by people cutting down forests in the past and starting to graze livestock there. This fact calls into question the philosophy of non-intervention, that man does not belong in nature.
- In the past, conservationists in Slovakia experimented with non-intervention in meadows and found that it did not work and that meadows needed to be mowed to preserve the object of protection. Today, the situation has changed, and most non-governmental conservationists and employees of state nature protection are strongly fighting for mowing meadows and for grazing meadows by farm animals. It is interesting why conservationists do not adopt this philosophy in forests as well. Forests also need active care, such as sanitation against bark beetles or the felling of invasive non-native tree species. Nature protection authorities, under the influence of dubious conservation associations, do not grant permits for this.
- Slovak eco-activists cite Germany or Austria as a model for nature protection, where there are several national parks where non-intervention is promoted, although even that is not always true. Switzerland has forestry at a much higher level and has far greater experts in forestry and forest ecosystems than Germany and Austria, and that is precisely why they do not promote non-intervention. Despite the fact that Switzerland is number one in Europe in nature-friendly management, they only have one national park and several nature parks. We in Slovakia have an incredible nine national parks with much larger areas than in Austria, and we want to promote non-intervention on them and expand them. The Swiss are not stupid and they know very well that real nature protection is about something else than non-intervention and they are well aware of its disadvantages. ……. Furthermore, I see no reason why Germany and Austria should be a model for Slovakia in terms of ecology, because both countries have forests in a significantly worse condition and the ratio of how much wood grows and how much is cut down is significantly worse than in Slovakia. While the vast majority of forests in Slovakia have world-renowned ecological certifications PEFC and FSC, in Germany and Austria, as far as I know, this is a rarity.

Eco-terrorism in Europe. Electric cars, ban on internal combustion engines, campaigning against nuclear energy
False nature protection, false ecology will do more harm than good – and this does not only apply to Slovakia and it does not only apply to forests. The Greens and Greenpeace lobbying have also caused enormous damage in Germany, where they want to close the last nuclear power plant units but have nothing to replace them with – the solution will only be to buy energy from abroad and rely on the mass production of electricity from natural gas, the combustion of which produces carbon dioxide and water as waste products, despite the fact that they are against CO2 emissions. For this reason, the construction of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline is also important for Germany. Germany will become completely dependent on Russia and German politicians will be easily blackmailed by Putin, who will turn the gas tap on and off as he pleases.
Unrealistic madness also comes from the EU, which would like to push through a complete ban on internal combustion engines and their replacement with electric cars, which is unfeasible without the mass construction of nuclear power plants. However, the EU is also strongly against nuclear energy. On the one hand, the EU says it is against rising energy prices, on the other hand, it is against nuclear energy.
Currently, third-generation nuclear power plants are in use. Nuclear energy is unlucky because the construction of new nuclear power plants throughout the EU is very slow, and the implementation of technological innovations in nuclear energy is even slower. There are many fourth-generation reactors for experimental purposes, but there is only one power plant in real operation in Russia.
Fourth-generation nuclear power plants have the following advantages:
a) incomparably higher security
b) 50% lower construction costs
c) they can burn nuclear waste from third-generation power plants
d) spent fuel loses its radiation after 300 years, and there is no need to build long-term storage facilities for several million years, as is the case with third-generation power plants. (Note: However, even spent fuel from third-generation power plants is not as big a problem as politicians and the lay public think, as it can be recycled and reused as fuel. Currently, this is not widely used because it is cheaper to buy un-recycled fuel made directly from ore).
I don’t understand the madness of the EU leaders. Human stupidity is a very dangerous thing. Human stupidity often triumphs over common sense. We are voluntarily giving up the progressive technological achievements of nuclear energy, putting development in reverse, and clinging to wind or solar energy. I am concerned about the demise of civilization. I am concerned about what will happen in about 50 to 100 years. I hope that civilization will not perish due to human stupidity, that we will voluntarily give up all technological achievements such as nuclear energy.
Wind energy is far from being as environmentally friendly as eco-terrorists would like to see it. Wind power plants have a huge problem with the recycling of materials such as fiberglass, resins, carbon fibers, and concrete. Fiberglass from wind turbines most often ends up in landfills . Recycling is complicated by the transport of huge parts and also there are no machines that could crush such large components. Crushing such huge pieces of concrete with a diameter of more than 10 meters is also unrealistic. Not to mention that the production of concrete releases an extreme amount of carbon dioxide, as the basic building material of cement is lime. Cement is made from lime. And lime, chemically CaO, is produced in an energy-intensive way from limestone , chemically CaCO3 . The chemical formula for production is CaCO3 → CaO + CO2 . This does not bother eco-terrorists.
- Eco-friendly electric cars ? This is the downside of increasing lithium mining.
- Germany to extend the lifespan of the last 2 nuclear power plants by a few weeks.
Targeted media lynching against the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests of the Slovak Republic
In an interview with the weekly Týždeň, former minister Ján Mičovský stated frankly that he and Samuel Vlčan had conflicts in their interpersonal relationships, even after Vlčan left the Ministry of Agriculture for the Government Office. Mičovský’s man, Mr. Magdoško , who also works as a journalist for Týždeň, is digging up affairs about Vlčan and his people that are not really affairs. It seems that this is not serious anti-corruption activism but rather a way of resolving personal disputes. Mr. Magdoško also seems to be struggling psychologically with the frustration of no longer having influence over the ministry’s operations as a key advisor after Mičovský’s departure from the ministry. … Another problem is that perhaps Mr. Magdoško also has skeletons in his closet: his closest fellow activist, František Oravec, is also suspected of subsidy fraud.
The media are pulling out strange micro-cases against the Ministry of Agriculture.
A new system for controlling forestry activities is being created. In Slovakia, we will have the most transparent forestry and timber industry in the world. If only conservation associations, the State Nature Protection, and the Ministry of Environment were as controlled by the public as foresters. This would reveal a huge amount of corruption and theft. Nature protection is the most corrupt sector, where EU funds are being embezzled. In the press conference, the director of the forests and the minister also commented on the media lynching regarding corruption, with both transparently explaining these suspicions.
Lately, there have been some strange media attacks against the Ministry of Agriculture and Lesy SR. Is this revenge by Ján Mičovský (or his man Patrik Magdoška) due to his disappointment at being removed as minister? Are these conflicts between foresters? Or do conservationists need to cover up their mega-corruption scandals with micro-scandals at the Ministry of Agriculture? In any case, eco-activists have grist for their mill, as they can divert attention from their own corruption.
Vlčan’s man , Martin Ondráš , respondsto the attacks against the Ministry of Agriculture. He states that politician Magdoško, representing the party “We’ve had enough!”, is not engaging in serious anti-corruption activism, but rather it is a personal conflict with Mičovský’s people. Eco-activists, such as the eco-terrorist journalist Jana Kubisová , then benefit from such conflicts to divert attention from their own corruption. Minister Vlčan told Radio Express that the reason Magdoško is attacking him is that his friend from the political party, Mr. Oravec, is under criminal investigation, and Mr. Magdoško was also criminally investigated in the past. Martin Ondráš from the ministry, in turn, claims that František Oravec received suspiciously large subsidies worth millions of euros from the PPA under Kožuch, and former ministry employee Magdoško from the Mičovský era is trying to help him prevent this from being investigated. Ondráš accuses Magdoško of covering for Kožuch when he held a position at the ministry, as a result of which Mičovský did not dismiss Kožuch, keeping him there as long as possible until NAKA came for him.
During the reorganization of the state-owned enterprise Lesy SR, many employees will be demoted, they feel wronged, and this causes huge conflicts between foresters, and then eco-terrorists benefit from it.
Mr. Ondráš published a conversation with Magdoško on his FB account, where he is clearly under the influence of alcohol and where he physically threatens. The media made a big mistake when they believed such a dubious source of information as Magdoško.
Investigative journalism has been greatly discredited. The media overlooks major corruption (especially at the Ministry of the Environment) and openly refuses to report on it, but there is strong manipulation of public opinion by the media regarding attacks against the Ministry of Agriculture through various micro-affairs.
The dubious journalist Jana Kubisová constructed an artificial case about the forests of the Slovak Republic with an intentionally manipulative headline .
The RTVS program “Reporters” is interesting, as it discusses fabricated scandals against the forests. The fact is that any suspicions of possible corruption have been transparently explained by both Vlčan and the director of Lesy SR. Only those foresters who feel wronged because they were moved from higher to lower positions during the company’s reorganization are complaining, which is psychologically understandable due to their feeling of injustice. It even went so far that it seems the former director of the branch plant, Lucia Miňová, fabricated a fictitious contract stating that forester Stažko and his wife’s company had a mutual contract worth hundreds of thousands of euros. Well, Mr. Stažko would have to be the biggest oligarch and the biggest mafia boss in Slovakia to have such power to erase a contract from the central register of contracts!!!! A certain forester revealed information to me about who Lucia Miňová is. She was appointed to her position by her acquaintance, a man of Mičovský, the head of the forestry section at the ministry, Michal Tomčík. This forester also claimed to me that Miňová is not without fault either. Miňová preaches water and drinks wine.
Minister Vlčan transparently explained the suspicions on TA3 .
On the one hand, the media claim that they do not want Fico’s return, and on the other hand, they bombard public opinion with fictitious cases or micro-cases, thus summoning Fico’s return.
Jan Mičovský, who accuses Samuel Vlčan and his people of corruption, is not clean himself. He committed serious corruption when buying an apartment. Authentic copies of contracts . Mičovský preaches water and drinks wine. ….. …. Mičovský’s lack of transparency with Michal Bizoň.
Contractors for Lesy SR filed a criminal complaint: Mičovský’s man, the former CEO, blackmailed us! Corruption in state forests? Forest workers talk about bribes for former boss Vigoda: Criminal complaint!
The OĽANO party forced Minister Vlčan to politically nominate Matej Vigoda, who is currently being investigated by the police for corruption, as the temporary director of Lesy SR. It is not good when politicians interfere in nominations and in professional matters they do not understand.
Another interesting interview with former secretary Kyseľ . He transparently explained the pig case, why and for what reason the call for subsidies could not be public , but only some organizations could be contacted. Kyseľ also points out that Magdoško was legally convicted of dangerous threats. Kyseľ also claims that Magdoško accused him of cooperating with the ŠtB, which is a sign that Magdoško is not mentally well.
A video went viral where Hlina accuses Vlčan that the excavator operator will dig for EUR 3,000 per hour. I was very surprised that the “apolitical” daily SME published an article by politician Hlina on this topic, and I would like to point out that it is not in the blog section but in the official editorial section. Vlčan responded to Hlina’s misinformation, which unfortunately did not receive nearly as much media attention .
An interesting interview with the head of the PPA, Jozef Kiss, has appeared, where he also indicated that Kožuch was comfortable with Magdoško. https://www.aktuality.sk/clanok/qm80q8e/na-rovinu-s-jozefom-kissom-dotacie-boli-nastavene-na-zneuzitie-kradli-viaceri-nielen-bodor/
Interview . Former State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture Kyseľ: The effort to break up the PPA may be to cover up a subsidy fraud by a party member. We’ve had enough.
The Ministry of Agriculture questions the defamatory disinformation from the media, which drew information from the Stop Corruption Foundation. The Stop Corruption Foundation, in turn, drew information from the scoundrel head of the TANAP administration, Pavol Majko. Their disinformation was uncritically adopted by the media, which did not verify the information. Who is Pavol Majko? Pavol Majko is the long-time director of TANAP, who became famous for corruption and grants permits to all developers for unlimited construction. Ján Budaj stands behind this corrupt nominee and defends his corruption. He refuses to dismiss him. The reason Budaj does not want to dismiss him is that it is very difficult to find someone to replace Pavol Majko – it is very difficult to find a person completely without moral principles who would willingly do such dirty work as he does. When even the oligarch businessman Igor Rattaj is outraged by Pavol Majko’s corruption, but Budaj doesn’t mind, that’s too much. The Stop Corruption Foundation are fraudsters – I reported corruption at the Ministry of Environment, everything described in detail on about 10 A4 pages, and I received a reply that they would not deal with Budaj’s corruption, without giving a reason. They don’t deal with real corruption, they invent fake corruption.
Someone must be very bothered by the fact that Mr. Marhefka is a very strong fighter against corruption in the State Nature Protection – also a huge critic of developers in TANAP.
Journalist Soňa Makká, who is reasonably suspected of being bought by a corrupt pseudo-environmental lobby, drew from unverified sources of information. Someone is probably very bothered that Mr. Marhefka is a very strong fighter against corruption in the State Nature Protection – also a huge critic of developers in TANAP. …. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the Stop Corruption Foundation is expressing itself incorrectly on the selection of the new Director General of LESY SR: It prefers one of the candidates.
” Golden parachutes ” by Ján Marhefka. Some journalists report very maliciously – they only publish Budaj’s disinformation without giving the Ministry of Agriculture a chance to comment. There is a reasonable suspicion that some journalists have been bought by the pseudo-environmental lobby.
Scandals of the Ministry of the Environment in connection with the failure to address environmental burdens
Another reason why Minister Budaj and his secretaries should immediately resign is their failure to address environmental burdens. When it comes to the business of “our people,” they are very active at the ministry – the amazing skill of Secretary Michal Kiča, who, in the first months of the government, quickly poured 11 million to his friends from BROZ, and the amazing skill in the “reform” of national parks that will facilitate the theft of EU funds. It’s a pity that they are not as skilled in solving environmental burdens as they are in the business of “our people.”
The Ministry of the Environment is not addressing the environmental burdens related to the pollution of the Slaná River. The main point is that the Geological Survey belongs to the Ministry of the Environment, and the Geological Survey should be addressing it, but the Ministry of the Environment is not acting. There are several links on the topic. Link 1 , Link 2 , Link 3 , Link 4 , Link 5 , Link 6 , Link 7 , Link 8 .
We asked the Ministry of Agriculture about the contamination of the Slaná River. The Ministry of Agriculture complains that Budaj’s ministry is not cooperating and does not want to help declare a state of emergency. But Budaj, a motoric liar and intriguer, blames everything on Sulík .
No PCB substances. Reference1
A river full of plastic bottles . A prime example of the work of passionate “ecologists” and “nature lovers” Ján Budaj and Juraj Smatana.
A generator of lies and a generator of conflicts, Ján Budaj, is behaving like a psychopath and claims that he is filing a criminal complaint against people from the Ministry of Economy’s remit. However, the Ministry of Economy claims that the Ministry of Environment did everything to complicate their rescue work with the contamination of the Slaná River. I quote from the press release of the Ministry of Economy:
“In order to accelerate the implementation of measures, it would be clearly expedient to declare an extraordinary deterioration of water quality within the meaning of Section 41 of Act No. 364/2004 Coll. on Waters. Representatives of the Ministry of Economy have repeatedly appealed for an extraordinary situation to be declared on the river…”.
“The Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic responded to the announcement of Rudné bane about the existence of an environmental burden in the form of water flowing out of the mine in Nižná Slana by stating that in this case it is not an environmental burden.”
So Budaj says something completely different in front of the media and something else in internal communication with the Ministry of Economy. What motive could he have for this lying? He would probably make a bad name for himself in Brussels by declaring a state of emergency, it would probably have to be reported somehow. It’s hard to say what the reason could be – the thought processes of the madmen at the Ministry of Environment often have no logic – we don’t know for sure.
Information sources: link 1 , link 2 .
Sulík stops attending coalition councils . Budaj’s criminal complaint could be one of the reasons.

About forest ecosystems in general
Ing. Peter Balogh , PhD., head of the scientific institution for forest ecosystems at the National Forest Centre , points out that 23% of forests are already in a no-intervention zone. Such a high number can only be reached in a banana republic like Slovakia. The Ministry of the Environment has also unofficially declared a no-intervention zone in the so-called white areas based on methodological guidelines for state administration. The fact that the Ministry of the Environment has unofficially declared a no-intervention zone in white areas borders on the hidden nationalization of private land, which threatens property rights, as the landowner cannot freely dispose of their land and cannot fully utilize it. Such insane things are only possible in Slovakia.
What was the point of the so-called reform that wants to further expand non-intervention?
Huge floods in Yellowstone National Park . Many eco-activists cite this national park as an example, but even it is not a prime example of a water retention function. The entire national park had to be closed for the first time in history, and many access roads in the vicinity were washed away. If I’m not mistaken, most of the national park is a no-intervention zone. I hope that our Slovak eco-activists will learn from this and stop promoting harmful no-intervention, which destroys nature the most. In Yellowstone National Park, bark beetles devoured the forests, causing the forest to lose its water retention function. It is similar in Slovakia. Floods are most common below national parks.
The State Nature Protection is introducing a truly bizarre novelty!! In non-state forests, calamity trees are no longer marked by foresters but by amateurs and dilettantes from the State Nature Protection. This is what happens when madmen come to power. The Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Juraj Smatana, suffers from a schizoid personality disorder, has symptoms of paranoid psychosis and related delusions. He trusts almost no one: while he did not believe the forensic doctor when Dušan Mydliar was killed by a bear and demanded his own investigation by the State Nature Protection, which is an absolutely insane idea, today Smatana suffers from a morbid distrust of foresters. For a top expert like Mr. Gombárik, it is very humiliating to be lectured by total fools.
Ľuboš Machaj, who had a joint company with Budaj, will become the director of RTVS. Will there be more disinformation about nature protection in RTVS than before?
According to our latest findings, Machaj, as the director of RTVS, could also be in a conflict of interest. For many years, he had a joint company with the Minister of the Environment, Ján Budaj (OĽANO). They co-founded the company REGIONAL, spol. sro in 1992. Machaj left the company as a managing director and partner in 2005. At the beginning of this year, Budaj transferred the company to his family member, Daniel Budaj. The question is whether this was related to the election of the head of RTVS. The company was also renamed 1 Solution sro. The media brought up a strange affair about SaS/OKS MP Radovan Kazda under very mysterious circumstances. There would be nothing strange about it if it hadn’t been only about two weeks after MP Kazda sharply reprimanded Ján Budaj for his aggressive behavior in parliament during the vote of no confidence. The dirty work of the media is undeniable as they cover up corruption and the Augean stables at Budaj’s ministry and actively support him in it. The very strong influence of corrupt lobbying groups in the field of nature protection on the media is unquestionable. The affair concerning the MP resembles the revenge of lobbying groups for criticizing Budaj, who obediently serves them like a servant. I wish my theory wasn’t true and it really was just a coincidence!!
Employees of the Poloniny National Park were illegally logging and stealing wood!!! One of the biggest scandals in the history of the State Nature Protection!!! Ján Budaj will certainly hold them accountable 🤣🤣. …. I assume that agent 007 Ján Jenčo , who is the head of the Slovak Environmental Inspectorate and a former employee of BROZ, will rush there and sort things out!!! 🤣🤣. …… Slovak Forestry and Timber Inspectorate: The request from LPM Ulič to investigate a possible theft of wood has been forwarded to the police. The whistleblower of anti-social activity writes about possible perpetrators from the Poloniny National Park Administration.
Employees of the Poloniny National Park were illegally logging and stealing wood!!! One of the biggest scandals in the history of the State Nature Protection!!! Ján Budaj will certainly hold them accountable.
I assume that agent 007 Ján Jenčo, who is the head of the Slovak Environmental Inspectorate and a former employee of BROZ, will rush there and sort things out!!!
So, since the arrival of conservationists in Poloniny, local residents have not had firewood for the winter, but the national park administration gave them instructions on how to get it. They simply go to the forest and steal it, without consent, even at the command of the director of the Poloniny National Park, who recently received an award from his minister, the king of the StB, Janko.
Who is Ing. Matej Dobšovič ? He is the former director of the Bratislava city forests and currently he is in charge of national parks at the Ministry of Environment. He is an IT specialist by education. He does not have a forestry education. He does not even have a license as a professional forest manager (the register of forest managers is publicly available on the NLC website). How could such a dilettante be the head of the Bratislava forests? That’s like making a goat a gardener! A person can obtain a professional forest manager license even without forestry education after completing demanding professional training and exams, with repeated re-examinations. Ján Budaj is not surrounded by a single expert!!! And that’s how it looks.
On 1 March 2022, Matej Dobšovič ceased to hold the position of director of the Bratislava City Forests. The reason for the personnel changes is the personal decision of Mr. Dobšovič, who accepted the offer to lead an important reform of national parks at the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic. The Minister of the Environment, Ján Budaj, directly expressed interest in Dobšovič filling this position.
Boris Kollár is expelling Ján Budaj from the government .
The Ministry of the Environment is negotiating withKarahuta on his proposal for an amendment to the Nature Protection Act.
The minister dismissed the head of the Bohemian Switzerland National Park, he failed to handle crisis communication. … Minister Hubáčková is leaving for health reasons. Jurečka has already chosen a successor.
A new era of national park management? …. Minister Budaj has appointed the directors of national parks.
According to him, ” A new era of national park management is beginning.”
Auditors found 10 violations of generally binding legal regulations at Budaj’s ministry.
The director of TANAP has not yet been appointed, partly due to accusations against the head of the district for OĽaNO, who is himself in a conflict of interest.
The mysterious Nufia association was allegedly created as a tribute to the bear Ingrid, now conservationists and scientists compare it to Marcel Slávik.
Igor Matovič. Fallen trees in the Little Carpathians. These trees have probably been lying here for years, but I still can’t understand why, instead of bringing direct benefit to people, we let them rot in the forest IN SUCH QUANTITIES. During a 4-hour hike, we saw thousands of them like this. 🤕. ……… Matovič criticized that fallen trees are rotting in the forests without any benefit. An expert explained to him that they are vital.
SAO: Slovakia is not prepared to address the problem of drought SAO: Slovakia is not prepared to address the problem of drought.
Bohemian Switzerland National Park
The Bohemian Switzerland National Park is on fire! When you look at those photos , the bark beetle’s dry wood, the dead forest, the reason is clear. No intervention harms nature the most!! Expert foresters have been warning for many years about the danger of fires in dead/no-intervention forests! When will we finally start listening to experts? I firmly believe that God’s mills grind slowly but surely, and that one day the police will arrest people like Ján Budaj, Juraj Smatana, Michal Wiezik, Erik Baláž and the like, who lobby for no intervention and thus harm nature and forests.
Statements by two foresters, top experts: Dušan Mikuš and Robert Gombárik . Both are the most important promoters and implementers of nature-friendly forest management. What do they think about no-intervention? Read on.
…. The Czech media also gave space to real lunatics:
Jakub Hruška: The forest fire in the Bohemian Switzerland National Park is a great opportunity to let nature recover again
Expert: Fire in Bohemian Switzerland National Park will create a better environment for animals
…. Bohemian Switzerland National Park: Czech firefighters, local mayors and German firefighters warned of the enormous danger of fire due to non-intervention and deadwood from bark beetle-infested trees. During discussions with the national park management, they were ridiculed by conservationists for watching too many horror movies and that there was no danger of fire. But it happened. And the fire even spread to the German side.
Despite this, the Czech media gave space to similar eco-terrorist lunatics like Assoc. Prof. Michal Wiezik from academia. Some headlines from the Czech media:
…. Currently, a crazy opinion is popular among ecologists that fire is the best thing for nature and the forest. The idea is mainly promoted by some Czech eco-intellectuals, and the former director of the Muránska Planina National Park, Marcel Uhrin, has also joined them. So, should arsonists of national parks not be prosecuted by the police, but on the contrary, should they receive the highest award from conservationists for “helping” nature in this way? Let’s not be crazy!
… “Gambling with the risk of disaster.” The park’s management received a warning shortly before the fire https://www.seznamzpravy.cz/clanek/domaci-politika-hazard-s-rizikem-katastrofy-sefum-parku-prislo-varovani-kratce-pred-pozarem-210310
… The ecoterrorist ideology in the Czech Republic is very strong. Conservationists do not want to plant trees after a fire “because of non-intervention”. Pure madness. According to the ecoterrorist, the greatest danger to the forest is the forester who plants trees and restores nature. Let the Czech Ministry of the Environment pay for the huge costs of extinguishing fires.
- Zeman criticizes the former Minister of the Environment . Bursík’s bark beetle is to blame for the fire in Hřensko, Zeman repeated at Živitelka.
- The green dogmatists must not wriggle out of the fire in Bohemian Switzerland. Daniel Kaiser, Denník Štandard
- The NLC scientific institution on the topics of non-intervention, deadwood, fires, and the energy crisis. National Forest Centre . Where should the wood burn ? More than 2 million m3 of wood. This is the amount lying in Slovak forests as a result of not processing the calamity over the last 10 years. The question therefore arises – wouldn’t it be more appropriate to process the calamity wood, let it burn in Slovak households, rather than let it burn – along with other living components of the forest and landscape, in a forest fire?
- Commentary: The country in the grip of scientists. Nature conservation needs broader consensus , Milan Lstibůrek, forest geneticist.
- Bohemian Switzerland scary photos, link1 , link2 .
- Initially, we wanted to let the forest burn in a controlled manner . However, we did not make a mistake, says the administrator of Bohemian Switzerland.
- The Saxon government wants to thoroughly investigate the circumstances and development of the fire in Saxon Switzerland, with the participation of scientists, among other things, it wants to know the answer to the question of whether the so-called dead wood in the national park influenced the spread of the fire. The government of Saxon Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer agreed on this at Tuesday’s meeting. Debates on the suitability of removing wood from the national park as fire protection are also being held in the Czech Republic.
Dutch villagers can be an inspiration for us Slovaks in the courageous fight against ecoterrorism.
https://www.mojevideo.sk/video/37ca9/holandski_farmari_vidiecania_protestuju_proti_ekoterorizmu.html
Dutch villagers can also be an inspiration for us Slovaks in the courageous fight against ecoterrorism. While in the Netherlands the government wants to eliminate 30-50% of livestock farms for “ecological” reasons, in Slovakia the government is destroying rural forestry and hunting through the reform of national parks. Both in Slovakia and in the Netherlands, there is great tension between the capital and the countryside, or between the urban and rural population. The demonstrations were not without violence, because the farmers’ livelihoods are at stake, so they have nothing to lose. Approximately 40,000 farmers are protesting at this time.
The protests take various forms: farmers brought cows in front of the parliament, they are protesting in front of the Minister of the Environment’s house, they blocked the Dutch-German border crossing with tractors, they blocked important highways, they broke through police barriers (which probably did not happen without damage to police cars and motorcycles), burning bales of straw, large protests at the airports in The Hague and Rotterdam, raising concerns that this could jeopardize air traffic, puncturing tires on police cars and motorcycles, damaging police cars.
Why does the government want to destroy farmers? Eco-terrorists are exactly the same in Slovakia and the Netherlands – they are the biggest madmen in society.
They are talking about the so-called nitrogen crisis. Farm animals in manure produce nitrogen oxides, ammonia, which allegedly damages nature (you can see the eco-terrorist from Greenpeace in the video – that guy in the forest). They want to achieve the complete liquidation of farmers, especially near protected natural areas. There is also talk of introducing not only a carbon tax but also a nitrogen tax. Government politicians constantly emphasize the violence of the protests.
The last 5 minutes of the video are an older demonstration from 2019 against exactly the same thing.
PS: To avoid misunderstanding my post, I do not support any violence: However, the Dutch can be a role model for us in the courage to fight against eco-terrorism. The protests in the Netherlands were not just about violence.

Scandals of conservationists in Veľká Fatra
The author of the YouTube channel ” Life in the Wilderness ” shows evidence that conservationists are feeding bears. It is interesting that the entire PR marketing disinformation campaign of Ján Budaj, his secretaries, the State Nature Protection (ŠOP), and the bear intervention team consists only of blaming hunters for all bear problems, claiming they feed the bears. Budaj and the conservationists preach water but drink wine.
How the illegal business of conservationists in the Veľká Fatra National Park began. A video from 2018 , when conservationists started illegally feeding bears and made an illegal business out of taking photos of them. The zoologist Mária Apfelová , an employee of the conservationists, is also from the Veľká Fatra National Park. She became famous for being suspected of the criminal offense of animal cruelty because she put a GPS collar on a bear too tightly, and it suffered and suffocated for years. It is very sad that the media gives such people a platform as “experts” on bears.
The current situation is that the kukaj.sk project was merged in this location, but illegal feeding and photographing continues to this day.
The bear intervention team (e.g. Slašťan, Hletko ) launched a hateful disinformation campaign against the BB city forests, claiming that they were feeding bears in the Veľká Fatra National Park. The truth is exactly the opposite. The ones who are feeding them are the conservationists. The conservationists took a selfie with the bears and a girlfriend by feeding the bears in Veľká Fatra. Will Ján Budaj keep his promise and dismiss the Veľká Fatra National Park conservationist Mr. J. Ž., who is in the photo ? Conservationist J.Ž. and co. were doing illegal business by taking photos using feeding. This is verified information.
PS: In the comments on FB, information is increasingly appearing that conservationists are feeding the animals and blaming it on hunters. This opinion was presented on FB, for example, by forester Peter Staroň and legal photographer Anton Sabucha – I cannot say whether this is just their subjective opinion or if they have direct evidence or credible testimonies.
The project manager of kukaj.sk talks about the chilling experiences with conservationists. He does not hide the fact that he is afraid of them. The broadcasting equipment, which people collected for 15,000 euros, was de facto confiscated/stolen by a conservationist, although he should have returned the equipment to him. He claims that he is in conflict with Mária Apfelová, who allegedly did not support the feeding project, but he is also in conflict with her, saying he does not want to criticize her so that she does not file another lawsuit against him.
Journalist Jana Kubisová, just about two days after the scandal about the crazy Augean stables in the Veľká Fatra National Park broke out on social media, regarding illegal feeding and earning money from photographing by park employees. I do not consider this strange timing of the article to be a coincidence in any way. Her article is a distraction from the real problems in the park by focusing on trivialities. It’s sad that editor-in-chief Bárdy can’t deal with a journalist who does disgusting, dirty work.
POLONINY : An employee of the State Nature Protection (ŠOP) was fired for picking blueberries in the 5th degree of protection. I would be glad if the same rules applied to all ŠOP employees. Members of the bear intervention team (who illegally earned money by photographing bears, spreading countless hoaxes) or several employees of the Veľká Fatra National Park should be fired.
The case of the head of TANAP, Pavol Majko
The head of TANAP, Pavol Majko, theoretically faces up to 20 years in prison for a very serious corruption affair involving subsidy fraud and abuse of power by a public official. We will learn the most information in the blog of the head of the district office , Jozef Bednár.The evidence seems to be very strong. The blog is about 26 pages long, so I will try to summarize it as briefly as possible, plus I will add my own notes. In his blog, Bednár presents evidence that the Tábor cottage in Tichá dolina, in the fifth degree of protection, presented as an alleged “rescue station” for chamois, has never saved any chamois. The “rescue station” received subsidies of 50,000 euros from the environmental fund, even though the law does not allow subsidies for such a purpose. For corruption and abuse of power by a public official, the official of former minister Sólymos, who approved the subsidy, should also go to jail. In total, Majko’s private association Les received up to 300,000 euros from the environmental fund. Moreover, Majko’s association, a so-called shell association, similar to shell companies, does not have a physical address.
The cottage was also supposed to officially serve as an information center for tourists – however, it is a mysterious, secret information center and there is strong evidence that it never served as an information center. Bednár, on the other hand, claims that he has evidence of how the cottage served the chosen ones for recreational purposes, there were parties, alcohol was drunk and they rode ATVs into the fifth degree of protection.
How will the police investigate this case? Will it end with the laws not applying to the chosen ones and the act not having happened? This is an extremely tough test for law enforcement authorities. Bednár makes no secret of the fact that he has very serious concerns about his safety due to his anti-corruption activism, because the most powerful mafia is precisely in the field of nature protection.
Why are the eco-terrorists from My sme les so mysteriously silent? Are they not concerned with nature protection? Are they also part of Majko’s corruption scheme? Why is eco-terrorist journalist Janka Kubisová silent? Is she not concerned with nature protection? Who pays her? Why is the entire editorial staff of Petr Bárdy, which specializes in ecology, silent? Have Bárdy’s mafia corruption lobbying groups in the field of nature protection bought them? Why are eco-activists Michal Wiezik and Erik Baláž silent? Are they really concerned with nature protection? Or pardon me, Michal Wiezik was not silent and, although indirectly, he defended Pavol Majko. Well, some eco-terrorists are showing their true colors. The subsidy fraudster Marián Jasík from the civic association Prales, who stole Norwegian funds, even passionately defended Pavol Majko on the Facebook page of the Union of Non-State Forests. Well, it’s no wonder. Criminals cover for each other. They are in it together. I would like to point out that the definition of subsidy fraud in the criminal code also applies to Norwegian funds if the rules are violated . And journalist Soňa Mäkká does not hide her above-standard good relations with Pavol Majko – she too got involved in organized crime, at least indirectly.
How did Ján Budaj and his people behave in the case? It remains a very strange and great mystery why only one candidate applied for the position of head of the most lucrative national park, TANAP, and that was Pavol Majko. My opinion is that the ministry manipulated the selection process from the beginning, and Budaj’s people blocked other candidates from participating in the selection process under various pretexts. In practice, this means that Budaj’s people manipulated the selection process from the beginning. Budaj makes excuses that Majko is only a temporarily appointed director. Well, a temporarily appointed director can be in office for two years until the end of the electoral term. Budaj claims that they have launched an internal investigation and audit due to suspicions. Well, an internal investigation can also take two years. However, public pressure may be too strong, and Budaj will have to dismiss his protected person even against his will.
The State Nature Protection is a totally rotten state organization full of criminality. It is a non-functioning institution. The State Nature Protection is clearly the most corrupt state institution, where all criminality is concentrated. This is just the tip of the iceberg – it is not the only criminal.

Official statement of the Slovak Chamber of Forestry on the proposal of the Vlk association to declare the Košice forests as no-intervention zones
The Slovak Forestry Chamber perceives the latest campaign of eco-activists, entitled For Košice Forests, as a dangerous gamble with nature, the forest property of Košice citizens, and their lives and health. The non-intervention regime in the suburban forests of the second largest agglomeration in Slovakia and, after the Viennese city forests, the largest forest property of a city in Central Europe, proposed by people without responsibility, is nothing but an irresponsible gamble. The Slovak Forestry Chamber appeals to the members of the current and future Košice City Council to reject this threat to the sustainable management of the Košice City Forests and to the inhabitants of Košice themselves.
“Gambling with nature means that the non-intervention regime will lead to the gradual disintegration of forest stands and the loss of their ability to provide full ecosystem services, including recreational and relaxation services. At the same time, suburban forests are primarily intended to fulfill these functions.”
It is an economic hazard because non-intervention will lead to the depreciation of the owner’s property, i.e., the forest property of the city and all its inhabitants, to the inefficient management of available resources, to the loss of income, to the senseless draining of public resources, and to the non-use of sustainably available and ecologically clean wood raw material.
And a hazard to the public because the non-intervention regime will make it impossible for people to move freely in the natural environment and will permanently endanger the lives and health of forest visitors,” says the President of the Slovak Forestry Chamber, Ing. Igor Viszlai.
The Slovak Chamber of Forestry draws attention to the undeniable fact that suburban forests unconditionally require permanent, professional and nature-friendly interventions in forest stands with an emphasis on maintaining their favorable health, sensitive shaping of the spatial and age structure of stands, their diverse species composition and ensuring adequate benefits from the sale of wood raw material while fulfilling ecosystem services (water retention, water protection, soil protection, etc.) and especially recreational and leisure functions.
My notes:
Why do commercial forests have better biodiversity than non-intervention forests?
The meaning of the word biodiversity is species diversity, species variety. The word biodiversity is often mentioned by ecologists and eco-activists as something positive, which it objectively is. The fact is, however, that commercial forests are much better in terms of biodiversity. For a graduate of a forestry faculty or a forester, this is a matter of course. For a person who is not an expert, it seems like a paradox and an oxymoron.
How do foresters ensure maximum biodiversity?
This involves several activities:
- planting trees with diverse species. In a no-intervention forest, planting trees is strictly prohibited.
- removal of expansive tree species: some tree species are much more successful in natural regeneration* than other tree species (for understanding, see the term “natural regeneration”). Therefore, one tree species tends to displace another. Expansive species mainly include hornbeam and hazel. Foresters try to cut/remove/prune these species in a young stand of 5-10 years to allow the displaced species, such as oak and others, to thrive better. This ensures a forest with a rich species composition.
- Another advantage of a commercial forest is its age diversity and differentiation. A commercial forest contains stands of all ages, from very young forests where young trees from natural regeneration are not yet visible in the grass and other herbs, to 10-year-old, 30-year-old, 50-year-old, and 120-year-old stands. A forest stand is felled only after it has a young generation from natural regeneration beneath it, at what is known as felling maturity. Each species has a different felling maturity. Felling maturity is the maximum possible age of trees, after which there would be a risk of the tree’s deterioration for economic purposes (a rotten core).
- Just as an interesting fact, it is only at its youngest age, when young trees from natural rejuvenation are not yet visible in the grass and among other herbs, that it reaches its highest biodiversity due to the large number of herbs that thrive. Also, the replanting of grass in young forest stands in itself increases biodiversity.
- It is logical that a forest with higher biodiversity, i.e. an economic forest, fulfills the recreational function of the forest much better.
- A managed forest stores more CO2 than a non-intervention forest https://www.mojevideo.sk/video/361d7/hospodarsky_les_ulozi_viac_co2_ako_bezzasahovy.html
*Explanation of the term “natural regeneration”: this refers to the so-called self-seeding of trees, where a seed falls from a tree to the ground and takes root. This creates a young generation of trees under the mature trees. Foresters always try to prioritize natural regeneration because it has economic and ecological advantages. Economically, they do not have to plant manually (manual planting is referred to as artificial regeneration), and ecologically, a genetically original tree species grows in the given location. This is important if an original forest grows in the given location. Even a managed forest can be an original forest. Each locality, each site of an original forest has different genetic information ideally adapted to the given site with a specific altitude and soil quality/properties. For example, an artificially planted beech does not have as high an ecological quality as a beech from natural regeneration.
Challenging the Ministry of Environment’s hoaxes about the embezzled money for collars at EUR 5,200/piece
An open letter to the Ministry of the Environment and to the corruption groups that have taken full control of Ján Budaj and the State Nature Protection:
It is very interesting that collars with the same parameters and services procured in 2018 were provided by the tenderer for half the price, i.e. EUR 2,500 without VAT, while in this case too, the procurement was manipulated because the most expensive tenderer won, despite the fact that all collars from all three then tenderers had the same parameters. But there is nothing to be surprised about. Every expert will tell you that the Ministry of Environment and the State Nature Protection are the most corrupt institutions, and this has been the case for a long time, even before Budaj https://www.uvo.gov.sk/vyhladavanie/vyhladavanie-zakaziek/detail/415803?cHash=543a1dafc5bacab19758d153788ba5e7
And how can you seriously boast about the functionalities of a bear movement and death detector as a fantastic achievement? Such functionality works on the principle of an accelerometer. You have an accelerometer even on the cheapest and oldest mobile phones.
Furthermore, I would like to correct you on what Iridium is. It is a satellite service for telephony that can be used in an emergency for sending data – meaning it can replace a GSM network or 3G or 4G internet. This way, it is possible to send location data or other data.
In practice, however, services like Iridium are useless and unusable. The service is too expensive, inefficient, and consumes too much energy on the collar. The GSM network is more practical, serving for regular mobile phone calls and for sending and receiving SMS MMS messages – thus, the service prices are much lower, and battery consumption is lower. The GSM network can be used as a substitute for 4G internet for sending location data.
So you really mean it when you boast about functionality that you will never use? An unnecessarily overpriced contract with unnecessary functionalities.
Ján Budaj and co. is the most corrupt minister in the history of the Slovak Republic. Multiple overpriced waste stands against bears, overpriced and unnecessary construction of lighting against bears to supposedly scare them away. You are a laughing stock to all experts. But the main thing is that “our people” will make money on it.
The regional elections were won by a political party fighting for the interests of the countryside and farmers, which is against ecoterrorism, against left-wing extremism in nature conservation and in ecology.
A huge revolution has taken place in the Netherlands!! The regional elections were won by a political party fighting for the interests of the countryside and farmers, which is against eco-terrorism, against left-wing extremism in nature conservation and in ecology. I hope that similar results will be achieved in the parliamentary elections. The Netherlands is a good example for Slovakia.
The election results are a reaction to the current Dutch government, which wants to forcibly eliminate at least one-third of livestock farming due to ammonia (= “nitrogen”) emissions from manure. This is an attempt to eliminate the countryside and farmers.
(From the perspective of modern political science, the extreme left does not mean that this political current wants to promote communism, but this term also refers to an extremist pseudo-ecological movement).

Overpopulated bears
The failure to address the bear problem is another reason why Ján Budaj and his secretaries should resign. Only a madman would blame the problem of overpowered bears on unsecured containers. The main thing is that corrupt companies will profit from it, doing it for five times the inflated prices – the main thing is that dubious corrupt individuals will get corrupt contracts for unnecessary activities. Forming a bear intervention team, shooting paintballs at bears, “euthanizing” bears – only a crazy psychiatric madman like Secretary Juraj Smatana could come up with such an idea.
The head of the psychiatric clinic at BB hospital, MUDr. Michal Patarák, PhD., complains on his Facebook that, in addition to his demanding profession, ecoterrorists from the Ministry of Environment have ruined his recreation in nature. They prevented him from entering nature by not regulating the overpopulated bear population. Mr. Patarák claims that he was in the BB district, Ortútske jazero, cadastral area of Malachov. He was greeted by a sign with the inscription “you are entering bear territory, do not disturb them”, which was most likely placed by employees of the grotesque bear intervention team, in which the Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Smatana, is specially involved and likes to direct them. The context and message of such an inscription is very clear: “that nature belongs to bears and man does not belong in it”. The inscription is an ecoterrorist philosophy. Although the inscription does not directly prohibit going into nature, it clearly contains this suggestion, this context. A normal person cannot have such a crazy opinion. But a seriously retarded person like Juraj Smatana, they really mean it seriously that overpopulated bears should be dealt with by people not going into nature. Activist Rudolf Huliak claimed that Budaj and Smatana want to drive people out of nature – someone might have found this opinion exaggerated, unfortunately, Mr. Patarák’s experience confirms this theory. Patarák claims that he saw bear paws in the mud and heard the rustling of unknown animals, so he was not indifferent to his safety. Anyone who thinks it’s an exaggeration to call Secretary Smatana a psychopath with insane views should watch this video and its description.
Photos of the injured man are circulating on the Internet in May 2022.
At least a small sample of a few links to Budaj’s non-solution to the overpopulation of bears. Link1 , Link2 , Link3 , Link4 , Link5
The Slovak Police were misused for Budaj’s hateful campaign against hunters – the police searched for illegal feeding grounds despite this not being within their jurisdiction. The attack by a furious she-bear in Poľana frightened all of Slovakia: New police findings. No illegal baiting sites for game were found in the Poľana hunting ground. This was confirmed to TASR by Denisa Bárdyová, spokeswoman for the Police Presidium. “Violations of regulations regarding game feeding and the creation of baiting sites are not criminal offenses; they are misdemeanors within the jurisdiction of district authorities,” she noted, adding that the police are not competent to deal with these unlawful acts.
On the one hand, Jan Budaj claims to support soft tourism, but on the other hand, he is bothered when Lesy SR (Forests of Slovakia) engages in soft tourism. Can someone explain to me why Budaj is bothered that Lesy SR also engages in activities other than logging? Does it make sense? He contradicts himself! On the other hand, according to Budaj, it’s okay for Erik Baláž to illegally guide tourists. However, engaging in commercial activity in the forest is not legal without the owner’s permission according to the Forest Act.
I wonder if Minister Budaj knew that Mr. Haring from the Intervention Team was offering bear watching at Sliezsky Dom for 145 euros per person⁉️
This is absolutely shocking!! A really harsh compromising material about the bear intervention team !! A fascinating article from July 2020. Big businessmen who made money by photographing bears have become members of the intervention team. But Ján Budaj has really messed up ! Now let Ján Budaj keep his word and fire these two Bratislava members of the intervention team, including their boss Haring! For those who don’t have time to read the whole article, I am publishing quotes of the most important parts of the article in the following lines.
“MARTIN: For example, WWF recently approached us to see if we would cooperate with the State Nature Protection as members of the brown bear intervention team. We said yes, it’s a big professional challenge.”
“Michal continued his master’s studies in Norway, which he completed with a thesis on bear attacks on humans. For a time, he was involved in research on bears near Častá. He worked for the Slovak Wildlife Society (SWS) and collaborates with various foreign organizations on bears.”
“Both became members of the recently established bear intervention team . One of their tasks is to monitor the so-called “container” individuals.”
“You are both originally from Bratislava. Do you miss your hometown?”
So-called “nature conservationists” often carry out various illegal commercial activities in forests. These include, for example, Erik Baláž, who accompanies tourists for money, several members of the bear intervention team who organize or have organized commercial bear photography, the “Prales deťom” (Forest for Children) activities (Milan Jeglík and co.), etc., etc. The hunting guard, hunters, foresters, employees of Lesy SR (Forests of Slovakia), and forest workers can ask if such suspicious persons have a permit and call the police or forest guard on them. The forest guard has the authority to bring suspicious persons to the police , and ideally, the forest guard should make a video recording and photographs of this illegal activity, which they will forward as evidence to the police and the state administration authority for forestry (the video recording may include the question of whether they are carrying out commercial activities and whether they have a permit) .
Section 30(3) of the Forest Act 326/2005 Coll. states that carrying out commercial activities in the forest without the consent of the administrator or owner is illegal . This permit is also required for state-owned land, where it requires the permission of the forest administration unless Lesy SR (Forests of the Slovak Republic) stipulates otherwise.
“Organizing or carrying out activities for the purpose of making a profit on forest land is only possible with the consent of the owner or administrator”
The motor-driven liar and schemer Ján Budaj attempted to launch a hate campaign against hunters and foresters . He tried to film a propaganda report in Poľana with the aim of slandering hunters and foresters. Fortunately, he failed . Although Budaj tried to conceal his unannounced, private visit to Poľana from the foresters, information still leaked, and the foresters were able to oppose him and refute his lies in front of the television. The propaganda report was not released.
A ” revolution ” has taken place in Slovakia, which is unprecedented in the history of the Slovak Republic!! A judge is demanding compensation from the Ministry of the Environment and is requesting regulation of the bear. The Ministry of the Environment has the option to appeal the verdict. Let’s hope that the fools at the ministry will have at least a shred of respect for the family of the deceased and will not file an appeal and will not try to block the payment of compensation to the bereaved. The madmen at the ministry are capable of anything now – let’s hope they don’t spit in the faces of the bereaved.
Another revelation of how Erik Baláž is doing illegal business on bears – €165 per person per day – paid guide for foreign tourists! I have already figured out why the so-called “conservationists” are against the regulation of the number of bears. If the bear population were regulated, they would go bankrupt in their illegal business because they could not guarantee their customers that they would see bears. Most of the people from the intervention team earn or used to earn from such a business, so logically they will lobby against the regulation of the number of bears because they are in a conflict of interest. A particularly high penalty is imposed if this business is done by an employee of the Nature Conservation Agency or a member of the nature guard – for abuse of power of a public official, several years of imprisonment are possible.
Please help! Together we must dismantle this illegal business so that bears can be regulated! If you see suspicious persons accompanying tourists, ask if they are doing it commercially and if they have a permit. Set your phone’s camera app to record GPS location so that when securing photos and video evidence, it has higher evidentiary value. Call the police or forest guard, or even an incorruptible, honest nature warden. The forest guard has the authority to use holds and escort Erik Baláž and similar scoundrels out of the forest in handcuffs.
Section 30(3) of the Forest Act 326/2005 Coll. states that carrying out commercial activities in the forest without the consent of the manager or owner of the forest is illegal . This permit is also required for state-owned land, where it requires the permission of the forest administration unless Lesy SR (Forests of the Slovak Republic) stipulates otherwise.
Walking off the marked trail in a national park without a permit is also illegal.
PS: based on the locality of Pribylina and the name “Erik” in the reviews, it can be concluded that it is Erik Baláž

JánBudaj is at it again. He wants to solve the bear problemwith light smog . Budaj presents a sensational invention, an “atomic weapon” against bears: Lighting. Every mentally healthy person considers such a solution to be madness. The main thing is that the right people will get rich from this unnecessarily overpriced project again. There are many videos on YouTube about light smog and how it is environmentally unfriendly.
PS: What if the bear comes from behind the garden, where the street lighting doesn’t reach? The comrades from the Ministry of Environment made a mistake somewhere!
Ján Budaj is at it again. Budaj claims that the fear of bears is just propaganda by hunters. According to Budaj, being afraid of bears is a mistake. Great, I’m looking forward to the “experts” who will teach in schools that hunters are to blame for all problems with bears.
The Director of the State Nature Protection (ŠOP) really surprised us! According to him , there has been no increase in the number of bears in the last 10 years, they have only radically changed their behavior! Why are they spending huge millions of euros to count bears when at the end of the day they falsify the results of the count anyway? For such fraud, NAKA should immediately arrest the director of ŠOP.
PS : Tomáš Šmatral is from the “Prales deťom” association, which is known for illegal commercial activities in the forests – violating § 30 para. 3) of the Forest Act 326/2005 Coll. This association also profits from a corrupt scheme of embezzling EU funds for collecting bear droppings, i.e., so-called bear counting.
Will the Police of the Slovak Republic take action?
Will Ján Budaj win the award for the most aggressive politician in the history of Slovakia? Regardless of whether someone likes or dislikes Blanár, or whether he is this or that kind of politician, Budaj behaves like a crazy psychopath. Ján Budaj’s aggression and hatred sent shivers down one’s spine. Budaj became a huge target of ridicule when he said that a bear is a vegetarian. The truth is that a bear is not a herbivore but an omnivore. Budaj and the moderator are misleading by saying that the hunting chamber is under the influence of the Smer party. Lebocký was a Member of Parliament for the Smer party from 2012-2016, and that’s all.
The author of the YouTube channel “Life in the Wilderness” got into a conflict with Milan Jeglík and Honza Suchý, who are people from the association “Prales Deťom”. They are half-mad people obsessed with hatred towards hunters. These are people who profit from corrupt business, from the Ministry of Environment’s project of counting bears, collecting bear droppings for 8 million euros. Milan Jeglík and co. are doing business illegally in violation of § 30 para. 3) of the Forest Act 326/2005. If you see them somewhere, call the police, make a video recording, send photos to the district office of the state administration of the Land and Forest Department, which will then fine them.
Protest in front of the State Nature Protection! The daughter of the man killed by a bear spoke out!! Hats off to her brave words!! The judge is demanding compensation from the Ministry of Environment and is asking for bear regulation. The Ministry of Environment has appealed the verdict. The fools at the ministry have no respect for the family of the deceased and have filed an appeal. The madmen at the ministry are capable of anything. They spat in the faces of the bereaved. The cynicism of Budaj, Smatana, and Hletko knows no bounds.
Ján Budaj is behaving like a psychopath . He has lost the last shred of human judgment and dignity. He calls hunters a political mafia. He is making a fool of himself. Budaj has surrounded himself with “experts” who have a crazy hatred of hunters. How can such a crazy minister have even a little respect from Slovak citizens?
The context of Budaj’s words must also be properly understood, because in the previous ” Na telo ” session, he paranoidly labeled the apolitical institution of the hunting chamber (of which every hunter must be a mandatory member) as an instrument of the SMER party. Only a madman can say such a thing. The fact that the madman Budaj further specified his positions by saying that hunters are, according to him, a “political mafia” only illustrates his psychopathic thought processes.
A fantastic article that factually refutes the current hoaxes and lies of Ján Budaj. Budaj’s way of communication is just one thing, and that is a lie.
The Ministry of Agriculture disputes Ján Budaj’s lies that baiting wild boars causes an overpopulation of bears. Even half a bear would not be fed by 350 grams a day.
Committee meeting on 22.6.2022: The NR SR Committee on Agriculture and Environment. Minister Budaj was called on the carpet – he was forced to negotiate with the mayors of problematic municipalities in the parliamentary committee. It wouldn’t be Budaj if he didn’t show his behavioral disorder again – he aggressively attacked the chairman of the committee, Karahuta. Under enormous pressure, Budaj admitted for the first time in history that bears are overpopulated, although he kept repeating the hoax about feeding.
Budaj’s statements in the parliamentary committee
It’s interesting that the day before his dismissal, when his support in parliament was unclear, Budaj suddenly and mysteriously changed his mind in a calculating way. He stated that bears are overpopulated and that his predecessors shot too few, even though just a few days ago he claimed the opposite – that there were too few bears. He also admitted to catastrophic corruption in bear counting by blaming it on the previous government. The biggest joke is that Budaj did not dismiss the Director General of the Ministry, Katarína Butkovská, who had held the same position since the Fico government, and even took her to the committee (she can be seen in the video – she’s the blonde). Budaj, with all due respect, “shat in his own mouth.” When Budaj faces dismissal, he suddenly has no problem criticizing his own people, but refuses to dismiss them from their positions – which is a very strange contradiction. The Ministry of Environment posted on FB on June 13, 2021, that corruption and embezzlement in bear counting for 8 million was just disinformation from hunters and that no theft was happening. Today, however, Budaj claims the opposite. Budaj claims he will investigate the corruption with bear counting – even though he has been in power for two years and has investigated nothing, so I don’t believe him.
Ján Budaj lied https://agropodcast.castos.com/podcasts/41958/episodes/agropodcast-s01e03 when he claimed that the current director of Lesy SR, Ján Marhefka, told him that he was feeding bears with 4 tons of corn. Mr. Marhefka questioned this hoax, stating that Budaj had not contacted him, and that Budaj’s information came not from him but from the Vlk association. The Vlk association obtained this information from Lesy SR last year, when Mr. Marhefka was not even the director of Lesy SR. Igor Matovič should connect Ján Budaj to his favorite lie detector – it would beep at almost every sentence Budaj says. The source is the official podcast of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Uncovering corruption in bear counting : In the previous count, 2800 samples were taken, based on which, after DNA analysis, it was determined that there should be 1256 bears (or with a confidence interval from 1023 to 1489).
During the last count, 1334 samples were taken by the end of 2020 and another 737 samples in 2021 (2071 samples in total). According to the contract, 3900 samples were to be delivered for the brown bear.
It will be interesting to see how they will model the size of that bear population.
If 3900 samples could not be taken, but only 2071 samples (compared to 2800), should the bear population be reduced?
(I am not the author of the post. I do not know if the anti-corruption activist wishes to be named, as organized crime in nature protection is very aggressive and sophisticated. This is a copied comment from a discussion).
Perfect article. Experienced expert Ján Nôžka questions several of Ján Budaj’s insane lies about “hunting bigwigs who made a big business out of bear hunting”. The reality is that the only one who made money from it was the state – no bigwig, no private person. The reason for Budaj’s attacks on the Poľana Protected Landscape Area is that the director of this PLA is trying to cooperate with the public, local government, foresters, and hunters.
👆On the evening of July 4, 2022, a brown bear was shot with a long-barreled rifle by members of the intervention team without the consent of the hunting ground user in the built-up area of the village of Iviny 👆. ….. ⛔️No more euthanasia, now they shoot ⛔️ …. 👍This is a different kind of shooting than the one according to the valid hunting law 👍.
I am also sending you direct evidence that Ján Budaj is not mentally healthy. He is no longer medically fit to lead the ministry. He even wove such crazy sentence constructions during the recall in parliament!!!!!! https://www.mojevideo.sk/video/37b77/jan_budaj_vulgarne_nadava_polovnikom.html
Even coalition MP Radovan Kazda (SaS) couldn’t hold back and had to sharply admonish Budaj in parliament for his vulgar behavior in a point of order!!!! Watch the video at 6:40 https://www.mojevideo.sk/video/37b7a/vystupenie_jana_budaja_pri_odvolavani.html
A huge miracle has happened!! According to “experts”, the number of bears has decreased from 1214 to 1056 since 2015. So we don’t have to be afraid of bears and no regulatory hunting is needed? So if the number of bears is decreasing, there are probably too few of them, they are threatened with extinction and we have to protect them even more? It’s crazy how the fools from the Ministry of Environment (MoE) and the State Nature Protection (SNP) are making fun of us!! But somehow the area of bear occurrence is rapidly expanding, which we all see. This is a criminal offense, that 8 million from EU funds were stolen for some dubious, fake, falsified scientific research. The MoE and SNP are the most corrupt institutions in our state. I firmly believe that the NAKA police will lock up Ján Budaj and his secretaries in Leopoldov for several years.
The independent scientific institution , the National Forest Centre , which also deals with the number of bears, questions the scandalous findings of the corrupt State Nature Protection that the number of bears in Slovakia is mysteriously decreasing.
The very controversial journalist Jana Kubisová interviewed Michal Haring . Haring likes the fact that the biggest business is made out of bears – a business brand. Haring became most famous for the fact that before he became an employee of the State Nature Protection, he made a living from illegal business, accompanying tourists to observe bears.
And who is the journalist Jana Kubisová?
I have verified information that when people confronted her with some of her controversial articles, she distanced herself from her article, refused to discuss it, and referred to editor-in-chief Petr Bárdy. This means that some of the articles under her name were probably not actually hers, but the real author was someone else. The anonymous author will most likely be corrupt lobbying groups in nature protection, who are embezzling EU funds, and Kubisová is lobbying for them. The second possibility is that Kubisová is mentally disturbed when she distances herself from her own articles. I publicly call on Aktuality.sk for an explanation.
PS: The Aktualitky.sk affair recently broke out, that their sponsor is the corrupt group BROZ, known for embezzling EU funds. Great business: BROZ pays Aktualitky.sk and Aktuality will defend corruption in nature protection as Kubisová does.
The ecoterrorist mafia laughs in the faces of us decent people. Someone has made a super business out of bears. One collar per bear costs the State Nature Protection (ŠOP) 5200 EUR. But just search Google for the phrase “GPS 4G animal” or “GPS SIM animal” and you’ll find GPS tracking collars for 120-300 EUR. So ŠOP is procuring collars at 43 times the inflated price!!! The State Nature Protection is an absolutely corrupt and completely dysfunctional institution. Investigative journalists receive bribes from corrupt groups to keep silent. …..
