Few people realize that the situation is this serious. Yes, history is really repeating itself.
Although the Kremlin's propaganda outwardly pretends to be against Nazism, as all "enemies" of the political regime in Russia are labeled "fascists," it actually has a lot in common with German Nazism. This is where the sophistication of Russian propaganda lies.
In Russia, so-called state or civic nationalism is cultivated (superiority based on civic identity). Civic / state nationalism is also cultivated in the USA, but in Russia, this ideology is 100 times more aggressive. It is unnecessary to repeat myself, I write more about it here https://filozofia.nett.to/politika/sk/ideologia-tzv-statneho-nacionalizmu-v-rusku-a-usa

A Comparison of German Nazism and the Current Political Regime in Russia
– While German Nazism cultivated hatred towards Jews in people, Russian propaganda cultivates hatred towards Ukrainians. The propaganda slanders and humiliates Ukrainians, portraying them as an inferior, incapable nation, and labels Ukrainians as enemies.
For Russian propaganda, in second place in the ranking of hatred after Ukrainians, there is hateful propaganda against the USA and America. It should be noted that there is practically no difference in the propagandistic cultivation of hatred towards nations (as was the case with Nazism) and hatred towards members of entire states (in this case, hatred towards the USA).
– While Nazism fostered in people the superiority of Germans over other nations and the inferiority of other nations, Russian propaganda cultivates the superiority of Russian citizens over other states. The propaganda constantly revolves around weapons, the army, and military dominance. Members of Western states are labeled as inferior by propaganda – as a corrupt, degenerate homosexual West.
– Unjustified irrational military aggression is typical for both Nazism and the Russian government. Strongly criminal regimes are willing to militarily attack other states even without gaining anything from it. The Russian government started the war in Ukraine by officially deploying Russian military special forces, commanded by Igor Girkin Strekov, an officer of the Russian secret service FSB. It is 2018, but it is clear that officially deployed Russian soldiers are still present in Ukraine, as Russian special forces are also properly trained for covert types of military operations.
However, there is no doubt that the self-proclaimed politicians of the separatist republics are directly politically subordinate to the Kremlin.
