Current events in politics, media, and society #3

Hoax spread by the President: Tomáš Taraba was supposed to have spread hatred against actress Zuzana Fialová, although actress Fialová herself denied it.

The President is increasingly losing control and behaving less and less rationally.
Right after Čaputová was elected president, I felt a positive energy from her, but things started to go downhill rapidly during the caretaker government, especially after the case of Minister Šimko.
The president has contributed to one of the stupidest hoaxes I have ever seen in history.
I don't want to defend Taraba, his status was not wise, but it was by no means worth such a crazy reaction. A stupid status by Taraba, 100 times more stupid reaction. Although Taraba only criticized the RTVS program in bad taste, Čaputová made up a hoax that Taraba was spreading hatred against actress Zuzana Fialová and that his status was leading to hateful comments. I don't know, maybe the president meant it as an April Fool's joke, because she wrote the status on April 1st.
I reviewed several dozen comments under Taraba's status, but I did not find a single hateful comment directed at Fialová. Everyone was only commenting on the RTVS program. On the contrary, I found a lot of inappropriately hateful comments directed at Taraba, which had nothing to do with constructive criticism.
I am also surprised that a large part of the media uncritically accepted President Čaputová's hoax without verifying the information.
Moreover, it is tragicomic that actress Fialová herself did not complain anywhere that someone was spreading hatred against her in the comments, nor did she complain about Taraba himself.
Fialová reacted on Instagram only on April 3rd. Her reaction was lukewarm. She didn't even bother to create a full-fledged post and only created an image in Insta Stories, which only confirms her lukewarm attitude towards the whole case. Her IG story implies that it was not her initiative and the whole strange initiative of the president was without her knowledge as the main protagonist. In her IG story, Fialová wrote the following, including a typo:
"Regarding the stupid case of the Minister of the Environment, here's the following. Only now have I had time to see what it's about."
And even if Taraba's status was hateful, Fialová would have to bear the hate, as Fialová decided to fully engage in politics and political battles, often appearing on the stage of opposition political party rallies.
The only thing the President achieved with these comedies and this hoax is that she falsely accused Taraba of hatred towards Fialová, which brought a huge number of hateful comments on his Facebook page from the President's supporters.
Times are changing. The extreme right is not the only one spreading hoaxes and hatred. The President, as a supporter of the extreme ecological left, has also committed a hoax and hatred.
I do not want to diminish Taraba's spreading of hatred towards the presidential daughter. That was equally despicable. After Taraba became a minister, he changed his rhetoric.

What is the secret of YouTuber Zoroslava Kollára's success?

I saw an interesting article where two political scientists were asked why Zoroslav Kollár is so successful. Their answers were stupid, but the question was asked very correctly.
Zoroslav Kollár does investigative journalism focused on those politicians to whom the mainstream media are uncritical.
As a person who, as one of a few dozen people, had the opportunity to go deep into the media's kitchen, I can confirm that the media really does manipulate intentionally. The most important thing in deciding whether to publish a scandal about a politician is which political camp the politician belongs to. A double standard is something completely foreign to journalists when it comes to all politicians.
It is logical that "investigative journalist" Zoroslav Kollár benefits from a huge gap in the media market and talks about the cases of those politicians whose cases are censored by the media. This is the secret of his success.
90% of the information published by Zoroslav turned out to be true.

Not only Russia has its troll farms, but also the opposing opinion camp, the extreme left. "Liberal" trolls spread hatred.

While it was previously known that only Russian troll farms existed, today I am increasingly seeing trolls who present themselves as sympathizers of the PS party. While it is known how Russian troll farms operate, who is behind the left-wing extremist troll farm is a great mystery. Personally, I think it's some non-governmental organizations, but the question is which ones. It is also questionable what financial resources they have, what the amount of financial support is, and how and by what amount the troll is rewarded.
One thing is certain. Far-left trolls exist. I have never seen so many fake profiles in my life that do not spread constructive criticism to opinion opponents, but provoke and spread hatred.
Also, recently I have seen a large number of trolls with fake profiles who present an extreme left-wing view on ecology, left-wing extremism, for example, they present psychopathic ideas that the life of a bear is superior to human life and aggressively attack opponents. These trolls are allegedly financed by EU funds intended for nature protection.

We are experiencing the same division of society as during COVID.

While during COVID the source of societal division was the pro-Russian disinformation scene, the current division of society was mainly created by the mainstream media.
It is sad that Robert Fico won the elections based on propaganda that divides society, based on anti-vax, anti-Ukrainian, and hateful propaganda. However, Fico has the opportunity to mend his bad karma.
However, the current opposition, in cooperation with the media, is de facto doing the same as Robert Fico. It tries to harm the current government coalition as much as possible and does not hesitate to go to the greatest extremes. Demanding sanctions in Brussels and stopping EU funds for Slovakia, false propaganda on the topic of the Special Prosecutor's Office or the Criminal Code, although this topic practically does not divide almost the entire professional apolitical public at all.
In addition to factual criticism, journalists have no problem using countless hoaxes and disinformation against the government. After all, the end justifies the means. Especially in the area of nature conservation, I see many fake investigative articles full of nonsense. Since nature conservation is a professionally complex topic, there are still a large number of readers who can be easily deceived because they have no way of knowing, even by logical thinking, that the journalist in question is lying.
The strongly liberal Denník N went so far as to publish a grossly offensive homophobic caricature of Pellegrini during the presidential campaign. Well, why not, the end justifies the means.
Furthermore, the media has no problem using even the biggest scoundrels, corrupt individuals, and hoaxers, such as Michal Kiča or Erik Baláž, to criticize the government, even though I have informed journalists about who these two gentlemen are. Well, why not, the end justifies the means.
Journalists will even join forces with the devil just to achieve their goal and to divide society as much as possible.
A rational discussion on the topic of politics is pointless. There are two camps of opinion, full of emotions of hatred, arguing for life and death.
Both opinion camps have the same or a similar conflict as different religions. The opinion camps understand each other about as much as a Satanist and a Christian.
Every ideological party considers the other to be a dark force.
Different views on politics can cause arguments and divide families, just like COVID.
People have become victims of the matrix and live in the belief that by passionately letting themselves be drawn in and carried away by the current of one of the two political ideological parties, they are on the side of truth. However, every political party has both positive and negative aspects. Every politician has their positive and negative side.
Another problem is that whether a political party is corrupt or not is no longer so important. Extremism is much more important. Few political parties do not belong to some type of extremism. Extreme right, extreme left, extremist ecologists, religious fundamentalists. The SaS party is also extremist because the topic of ecology is handled by Anna Zemanová, an ecological extremist, and they actively supported Budaj in all his crazy dirty tricks. Not to mention that Zemanová was a very close friend of the millionaire MP and Eurofund oligarch Jaromír Šíbl, which Sulík did not mind at all. Šíbl saw only business in nature protection for embezzling Eurofunds. Sulík did not mind at all that his party was controlled by Šíbl through Zemanová in the area of ecology.
One of the many reasons why the media deliberately divides society is that it increases their readership and thus their influence. This applies to both mainstream and alternative media. The need for a sense of power and influence can be great for media owners and editors-in-chief. The result, however, is a totally divided and polarized society.
Another reason for the divided society are trolls on social networks, and this applies to both opinion camps.

Presidential campaign: The case of Petr Náhlik's million-dollar plane

The media gladly spread manipulative and demagogically presented information taken from Igor Matovič about Petr Pellegrini's million-dollar plane, which they claimed he had bought for Petr Náhlik. Most readers will understand this to mean that Pellegrini had stolen so much money that he didn't know what to do with it, so he bought a plane for a million. But what are the facts? It's not Náhlik directly, but his company that owns the plane. Since Náhlik is 43 years old, not a 25-year-old youngster, he could have legally bought the plane as part of his business activities through successful entrepreneurship. MPs are allowed to do business; they cannot only be executives. Talking about corruption in connection with the plane is speculation that would require more evidence.

Pellegrini's disgusting political trading with the SNS party

What Pellegrini did is karmically burdensome and may turn against him. He should have run without the support of the SNS or made a compromise in some other area than in the topic of cultural wars, with the most vulnerable paying the price.
Danko supported Pellegrini only after Hlas once again yielded to him on the issue of transgender people. The Ministry of Health cancelled the expert medical document, which dozens of experts had been working on for months. Minister Dolinková from Hlas, however, "fully identified" with the document.

Presidential elections

I am writing this part of the article between the first and second rounds of the elections, and it is not yet known who will win.
The biggest risk if Korčok were to become president would be that the polarization and division of society could deepen even further. It will also depend very much on the advisors he chooses. Whether his advisors will be moderate people, or people who will seek conflicts with the government and come up with various spiteful acts.
If Korčok had won, he would have been under great pressure, and the opposition and the media would have put a lot of pressure on him to harm the government as much as possible. It would be questionable whether Korčok would have resisted this pressure.
The conflict between the government and the president cannot please anyone, because then the government will devote a large part of its energy to this war, and less time and energy will be left to help the citizens.
The situation is so extremely tense that I do not consider it unrealistic if the media were to pressure Korčok to veto half of the laws.
Paradoxically, Korčok's victory may also help the stability of the government, because after the departure of Pellegrini's party, the government could become unstable.
The presidential campaign is really disgusting, full of hatred, hoaxes and personal attacks on both candidates of the second round.
A major negative and problem of the presidential campaign in the first round was the excessive promotion of Russian military aggression in Ukraine by some candidates, which may have a negative impact on public opinion.
While Čaputová's victory in the previous elections was something positive, associated with positive energy, later things went downhill for her, especially during the caretaker government, such as her active involvement in police wars against secret services, or the dismissal of Minister Šimko. Similarly, it could be the same for the winner of the next elections, whoever it may be.
