Why are Slovak journalists bigger scoundrels than politicians?

On the one hand, I don't want to lump all journalists together, but on the other hand, every journalist, even a good one, who remains silent, is passive and does not admonish their colleagues, participates in this moral low that journalism has become.
The problem is that in politics there are a large number of control and transparency mechanisms, but there is nothing like that in the media, and it is being abused as much as possible.
On the one hand, I am in favor of the media being able to operate as freely as possible; on the other hand, journalists fully exploit the insufficient legislative regulation of journalism in Slovakia. I am in favor of print media being under the same regulation of the Council for Broadcasting and Retransmission as television.
The number of hoaxes, disinformation, and propaganda that journalists write about nature protection is already breaking all records. Unfortunately, hoaxes, disinformation, and systematic propaganda are not a violation of the law and are legal and unregulated activities.
Jana Kubisová Aktuality.sk, Tomáš Grečko, Soňa Mäkká Denník N, Katarína Kozinková denník SME, Andrej Barát denník Pravda. This is a disinformation strike force that creates confusion in public opinion. Editors-in-chief should create certain control mechanisms, but they fail and do not address the problem even after being asked to do so.
Some extremist articles by extremely ecological journalists already smack of psychiatry.
I know many serious people who are experts in ecology or are involved in ecology, they are already so disgusted with the disinformation and propaganda of the mainstream media that they are switching to alternative media, which is also not a solution. And alternative media are just another trap of Russian propaganda funded from Moscow.
More than a year before the elections, I wrote to all the editors-in-chief of the media to learn from their mistakes, because disinformation and propaganda on the topic of ecology are advertising alternative media. They did not learn, they paid for it, and now they are crying over the election results.

I am not a fan of conspiracy theories, and if I hadn't experienced my own encounters with the media, I wouldn't have believed it could be this bad. I was completely shocked when an employee of the moral paragon, the Aktuality.sk newspaper, confirmed to me that they receive bribes to write in favor of the corrupt criminal group BROZ. Public opinion is heavily manipulated. The average citizen has no chance of learning the same information that I know.
And I don't want to go and share such information with alternative media because that's not a solution. I would only be advertising alternative media, which are financed from Moscow and also spread a lot of hoaxes and propaganda. And that's a little bit more.
I also tried to deliberately avoid criticizing the media and the catastrophic experience with the media in FB groups, so as not to advertise alternative media.
I mainly informed about the topic of corruption, I preferred to avoid topics such as how the media behaved.

Ordinary people are very disoriented and do not know what to think when far-right politicians talk about corruption under Budaj in the environmental department. After all, it is normal for the coalition and the opposition to verbally attack each other. People do not know whether it is politicking or the situation is really that extremely bad. It would be much more credible if investigative journalists, rather than politicians, were the first to come up with information about corruption.
How low have journalists and society as a whole sunk when we have to be grateful to far-right politicians for being willing to report on corruption and do something about it? Yes, we have to be grateful to these politicians too. What else is left for us? Then let the so-called decent politicians wonder why people don't want to vote for them.

What would it look like if journalists and the media were truly free? What would it look like if the media did their job honestly?

Corruption in nature conservation is so extreme that it should clearly be a central topic in the media. If investigative journalism in Slovakia really worked and really existed, it would be at least two to three articles per week, which would amount to 130 articles per year. I myself have sent the media about 150 pages of details about corruption scandals in nature conservation. Dozens of articles could be made from that alone. And if there were investigative journalists in Slovakia, they would certainly find 10 times more than I found with my colleagues. And if the public saw that the media were willing to write articles about corruption in nature conservation, then surely other whistleblowers and other witnesses would come forward to bring more information to the media.
The media knows very well that 95% of crime is concentrated in nature protection. Yet they remain silent.
On the one hand, the media calls people to rallies of opposition political parties to protest against an insignificant matter of whether or not a special prosecutor's office will continue to exist here, on the other hand, if there was investigative journalism in Slovakia , if there were free media, then people in the squares would protest for a completely different reason, and that is because of the insane corruption in nature protection. I don't care whether the Special Prosecutor's Office will be here or not, I only care whether I will see the bosses of the environmental underworld in jail. The whole media system is just to distract attention from essential things and protect its sponsors.
Matúš Vallo is a similar topic to nature conservation. I don't understand how the people of Bratislava can be so stupid as to elect him mayor again, and by a huge margin, despite the fact that he couldn't explain the massive corruption in pre-election discussions.

Some media outlets are trying to ridicule Huliak for stating certain inaccuracies about the topic of corruption in nature protection. However, they somehow forgot to highlight the information that was true, and that was the majority.

What would it look like if journalists and the media were truly free? How would they report on Matúš Vallo?

The truth is that Vallo does nothing but steal. Besides, he is an extremely bad manager and has done practically nothing for Bratislava except for traffic chaos.
If journalists were at least a little bit free, there would be at least one article every three days about various corruption, suspicious contracts, conflicts of interest, clientelism, and the like. In the Bratislava City Hall, you won't find a single square centimeter where something isn't being stolen.
Bratislava has an extremely large budget, half a billion euros, it's like a smaller ministry. However, ordinary citizens of Bratislava do not see anything from this money.
And beware, beware. Vallo is not only criticized by conservatives for ideological reasons, but also by many liberal people who can no longer look at this corruption.
The question is, however, how the next elections will turn out. Most Bratislava residents are still in the dark and rely only on information from Denník N, which does not criticize Vallo and covers up all his scandals.

How does media funding work? What changes does the legislation need for greater media transparency? Lex media

My opinion is that the media that shout the loudest about how independent they are are the worst in terms of transparency. This comes from my extensive experience with the media, which few people have.
The most transparent media funding works on the basis of advertising and publicity.
However, what is far more insidious are the various hidden advertisements about which the media reader knows nothing. A seemingly independent article was created based on an order for the benefit of some corrupt group in the form of a propaganda article and the like.
Various interest groups pay newsrooms to write about something or, conversely, not to write about it, for example, about the corruption of corrupt groups. The media, apparently, trade in information.

Ultimately, the hidden advertising was an already known video on Aktuality.sk, which I noticed only by sheer luck and coincidence. In reality, it wasn't completely hidden advertising, but fully hidden advertising is an incomparably more frequent phenomenon.

And just as a matter of interest, I wouldn't bet my life on the fact that some media outlets are directly financed by certain political parties. The state finances parties sufficiently for this to be possible. It's not entirely legal to do it directly, but pouring money into a company close to a party and then financing the media from that company is a rather clever and simple way to launder money. It doesn't even have to be an oligarch close to the party.

Advertisers can pressure the media, stating that if they spread certain propaganda, they will receive twice as much for the same advertising as they would if they did not spread the propaganda.
And I have no doubt that if I sat down for a beer with my friends Peťo Bárdy or Matúš Kostolný, they would honestly and frankly have no problem admitting to me that they are not doing journalism but propaganda, and they are not doing it for free.
My proposal is as follows: What legislative changes are necessary? The media should be obliged to disclose all their income, so that we can find out, for example, how much money organizations like BROZ have poured into the media. The publication of false financial information must be punishable in the same way as tax evasion, and the truthfulness of the published data will be checked by the financial administration, which will have extended powers in the law for this purpose.
The media would burst with anger and unleash hell if politicians proposed such a law.
This proposal would destroy not only all dishonest media but also alternative media, which would be shown to be paid for by Moscow. Alternative media are financed by sending money through smaller contributions of 500 to 1000 euros through their front men, who are natural persons. Please, let all the names of these front men who contribute at least 500 euros per month be published.
