How do you explain to a misguided Christian that the Old Testament is wrong?
The article was originally an email, a response to a man who advocated the Old Testament:
Of course I understand your mistaken opinion, I was also such a dogmatist and did not allow any criticism of the Bible. But when a person abandons dogmas and turns on reason, then a person realizes that the violence in the Bible is not okay. Article and video on this topic: See more in the article "Amazonian shamans: Yahweh is a demon"
And you are right that the devil rules this planet: that devil is Yahweh, whom Christianity and Islam worship as their only supreme God.
Christians easily excuse themselves from violent statements in the Bible because they say: " We have the New Testament, we do not follow violent statements in the Bible." They are basically right in that, but this is how Christians and the church contradict each other: if they do not recognize violent statements, why then do they not exclude the Old Testament from the canon and the church does not officially distance itself from the Old Testament?
And by the way: the spread of Christianity throughout Europe by fire and sword (i.e. the same practices as the Islamic State) and the violence of the Inquisition were inspired by the Old Testament. If it weren't for the Masonic cardinals at the 2nd Vatican Council, the tolerance of the RCC would still be on the level of today's intolerant Islam!!!
(I don't mean to say that I recognize the Freemasons, not at all, they just had very positive merits at the council)
And Muslims will say: if 2 billion Christians recognize the old law, which contains a lot of violence, and say it's okay, how much sooner should we recognize our violent Quran?
By the way, when I read Muslim websites, Muslims defend their violent Quran by saying that Christians also have a violent and hateful Old Testament. That is their strongest argument.
There is no less violence in the Old Testament than in the Quran (and perhaps more).
And moderate Islam is not innocent either: although the vast majority of governments in Islamic states are moderate Muslims, they will still hang you for conversion in Islamic states.
If the Church, the Pope, officially distanced himself from the Old Testament, it would bring about an immense amount of good, radical Islam would moderate itself somewhat. The Pope would also set a good example for Muslims – that violence does not belong in religion. Muslims would no longer be able to make excuses that Christianity also has the Old Testament.
