The official language of Israel, Modern Hebrew, is a synthetic language

Israeli Jews speak the Hebrew language. The fact is (and all experts will confirm this) that Hebrew was already a dead language in Jesus' time. Already in Jesus' time, the Aramaic Bible Old Testament (called Targum) was used, not the Hebrew Bible. What is completely new and shocking information for ordinary people is that contemporary Israeli Hebrew is 85% synthetic and artificially created. I have read the Hebrew original of the Bible and I know very well what old Hebrew is. It is total gibberish and currently an absolutely unusable language. It is a prehistoric language. A little more understandable is Aramaic biblical Hebrew, which is a much more understandable language. In a literal translation of Biblical Hebrew, you would not understand a single sentence. Israeli neo-Hebrew as a language was the Hebrew language restored after at least 2500 years.
Immediately after the establishment of the State of Israel, Hebrew was certainly not spoken, as not a single person could be found who used it in communication. It must have taken an extreme amount of effort and work for Israeli linguists to create a new synthetic artificial language: Israeli Neo-Hebrew. Israeli Neo-Hebrew did not emerge overnight. The creation of this synthetic language certainly took several decades. Israeli Neo-Hebrew is undoubtedly one of the youngest synthetic languages in the world. It is the youngest language in the world. With full seriousness and transparency, we can say that Israeli Neo-Hebrew should be listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the youngest language in the world. The origin of this language can be dated back a maximum of 25 years. I strongly emphasize that Israeli Neo-Hebrew and Old Hebrew have practically nothing in common – they are very, very different languages. We must realize that in modern communication, you need to master hundreds of thousands more words than was the case in ancient times, and you also need to have some grammatical rules, which Old Hebrew did not have (it was a very confusing and chaotic language).
The situation is completely different with Aramaic, a language that has been continuously maintained in some Semitic countries to this day. In order for people to be able to speak Aramaic among themselves today, there is no need to create a new language, because it has existed permanently to this day. Of course, when creating Neo-Hebrew, Israeli linguists adopted many elements from Aramaic, because what else could they do.

It would be very interesting to find out what percentage of Israelis actually speak Israeli Hebrew. Especially the older generations did not have to learn this new language. According to my information, a large percentage of Israelis still use Russian and Yiddish.

At one time, I thought that the official language of Israel was Yiddish, which is a Germanic Khazar language similar to German. This language also uses the Hebrew script, and it's quite confusing. The fact is, however, that a still significant portion of Israeli Jews use Yiddish – but they are a minority. Many Israelis sharply criticize people who use Yiddish because it reveals the non-Semitic origin of the Jews.
