You try to help the religious fanatic, but they perceive you as their greatest enemy, a person from Satan who is trying to destroy their faith, because that is how religion has programmed them.
Discussion can help a lot. But you can't discuss with a religious person, and if you can't discuss with them, it's very difficult to help them.
