In Jesus' time, the Roman Empire was at its greatest expansion and controlled the largest area of land in the history of its existence. The territory controlled by the Roman Empire included Judea, the territory of present-day Palestine and Israel. There are two very probable versions of Jesus' origin. Jesus had a pure European origin: he was the unwanted child of a Roman military officer (centurion) and his wife. The child was thrown out onto the street, and Mary took him and began to declare in public that he was her child, whom she had conceived with Joseph. It should be noted that higher Roman military officers could also bring their wives to Judea (for example, the Bible also mentions that Pontius Pilate had his wife with him).
This theory is supported by several facts:

The arguments in support of this theory are quite strong:
-The Greek philosopher Celsus in his work from 177 calls Jesus the son of a prostitute. This cannot be taken lightly. Celsus did not have to mean it as a joke or with irony. This man could have remembered many authentic testimonies from oral tradition. Celsus's work is older than the Bible, therefore it is more credible than the Bible. Mary, due to her bad financial situation, could have easily worked as a prostitute with some Roman military officer. Jesus could have been a child conceived through prostitution with a Roman soldier. -one non-canonical apocryphal gospel (which the church does not recognize) states an interesting thing: when Pontius Pilate investigated the Pharisees' accusation for the crucifixion of Jesus and questioned them, the Pharisees said of Jesus that he was conceived in fornication. The reason was undoubtedly very simple: since Jesus had pale skin, pale hair, and blue or green eyes, it logically raised doubts in people as to whether Jesus was the son of Mary and Joseph.
