How religion psychologically enslaves believers. Resistance to criticism of religion

Religious fanaticism has a very strong psychopathology of protection against criticism of religion, and believers have practically never heard any critical argument against the church in their entire lives, for example, on the website https://filozofia.nett.to/krestanstvo/
Christians do not know even the most basic information about the church (such as lesser-known historical facts* that compromise the church very strongly) and are so programmed that they do not even want to know them. Christians have, figuratively speaking, an antivirus installed in them. This antivirus considers the truth and any unpleasant facts about their church to be a virus. It is strange and paradoxical that you put an enormous amount of time and energy into your religion and church, but you still do not want to know it. With religious fanatics, there are two possible reactions to criticism of the church. Either they are aggressive, or they pretend that they are not interested in the issue at all. It is strange that Christians do not want to know even the most basic facts about their religion, into which they put such an enormous amount of time and energy. If I were to tell a Christian some details about Islam, which does not concern him, that would be understandable. Here we clearly see how religion psychologically completely enslaves a person and deprives him of free will. Religion programs a person in such a way that all conservative Christians are completely perfectly the same, they have the same program in them, and individuality is lost in them. On the other hand, it can be understood that Christians are desperate cowards who are afraid to look the truth straight in the eye. If they had to admit an unpleasant truth, they would have to admit that they were extremely mistaken, which is a huge burden and huge humiliation for the psyche, that they lost half of their lives, that for half of their lives they put an enormous amount of time and energy into religious nonsense completely unnecessarily, and their world would collapse from anxiety and depression, they would have to seek the help of doctors to prescribe them antidepressants and anxiolytics.

The loss of certainties is extremely difficult for the human psyche. It is more comfortable to remain in ignorance. The basis of religion is ignorance. Religion provides certainties.

Why did I get rid of religion and other Christians didn't? From the beginning, I was different from other Christians; I was willing to listen to the unpleasant truth about religion.

On the one hand, religion deprives a person of free will, but on the other hand, even a Christian has a certain very limited room for maneuver in terms of freedom, by being able to switch to at least a slightly more moderate form of religion or by being able to put at least a little less energy and time into religion. However, a significant portion of conservative Christians remain the same and do not want to become even slightly more moderate, not even in their old age.
*Christians and the church have their own historians (and church history is also taught at the theological faculty) who preach an extremely manipulated history about the church. From history, they select only those facts that are not critical of the church and its dogmas.
