About magic and witchcraft

Of course, it is important to realize that these things have enormous power and can also be misused.
Of course, in addition to good positive forces, the magician also encounters negative dark forces – but this is not only the case in the spiritual world but also in the physical world.
The reason why Yahweh forbade magic is that he perceived it as a competition to his power, for he was a jealous and envious, angry, hateful God.
The Book of Exodus – Chapter 34
14 For you must not worship any other god, since the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.

The Book of Exodus – Chapter 20
5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

However, various esoteric disciplines and magic cannot be perceived as exclusively positive sciences; there is a lot of nonsense and unprofessionalism, e.g., horoscopes, fortune-telling, any healing for money (it's all about business),
Just as there are ineffective methods in various books and manuals, magic also contains a lot of non-functioning nonsense.
We know that, but a bad opinion of magic has only brought bad fruit – the burning of witches – for these things the Catholic Church is ashamed and red to this day. It would also be very good and useful to study in detail the historical archives of the witch trials – this could also reveal that magic is not really bad.
I think that dealing with magic is not only not a bad thing, but on the contrary, one should be obliged to deal with these things as much as possible, because it is something very beneficial for a person.
One type of magic, although it certainly existed at the time, is not criticized by the Bible: healing. This is certainly no coincidence, as contemporary conservative Christians would like to believe.

The Book of the Prophet Isaiah – Chapter 47
9 Both these things shall come upon you in one day, childlessness and widowhood; they shall come upon you in full measure, despite the multitude of your charms and the great power of your sorceries.
10 You were secure in your wickedness, you said to yourself, "No one sees me."
Your wisdom and your knowledge – that led you astray; you said in your heart, "I and no one else!"
We see here a huge envy and hatred towards other pagan nations because they have wisdom and science (knowledge). This verse completely discredits the credibility of the entire Bible, which is against wisdom, knowledge, and truth.

11 Misfortune will come upon you, you will not know its origin, destruction will fall upon you, you will not know how to appease it, and terror will come upon you so suddenly that you will not even realize it.
12 Stand up with your charms and the multitude of your spells, in which you have toiled from your youth, perhaps you will succeed, perhaps you will frighten!
13 You are weary from the multitude of your counsels: let them stand and save you, those who divide the heavens, who observe the stars, who announce from the new moons what is to come upon you.

Amazing – the Bible is even against astronomy

The Acts of the Apostles – Chapter 8
9 Now there was a man named Simon who had previously been practicing magic in the city and amazing the Samaritan people, claiming that he was someone great.

After all, the truth of the opinion of the martyr Justin that Simon the Magician was the founder of Gnosticism cannot be ruled out (because the Bible mentions magic in connection with wisdom and knowledge). Maybe there is some truth to it. While contemporary Christians consider every magician to be possessed by the devil – a person who explicitly cooperates with the forces of evil, the Bible does not consider him to be such a radically negative figure. The apostles may have perceived him as evil only because he was a competitor in power and there may have been envy.
10 And all from the least to the greatest listened to him attentively and said, "He is the power of God, which is called Great."
11 They listened to him because he had been amazing them with his magic for a long time.
12 But when they believed Philip, who preached to them the gospel of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13 Then Simon himself believed, was baptized, and clung to Philip. And when he saw that signs and great wonders were being done, he was amazed.
17 Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
18 When Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money.
19 And he said, "Give me also this power, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit."
20 But Peter said to him, "May your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be obtained with money!"
21 You have no part or share in this word, for your heart is not right before God.
22 Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray to the Lord, that perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.
23 For I see that you are in bitter gall and in the bonds of iniquity."
24 Simon answered, "Pray to the Lord for me, that none of what you have said will happen to me."

The Acts of the Apostles – Chapter 19
17 This became known to all the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus. Fear fell upon them all, and they glorified the name of the Lord Jesus.
marginal note: Faith in Jesus in the name of fear
19 And many of those who practiced magic brought their books and burned them in front of everyone. When they calculated the value of the books, it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver.
This was actually something extremely negative, when precious books full of wisdom and knowledge were burned. Perhaps this verse inspired the secular power to spread and destroy everything pagan so brutally, and the Slavs also had their precious spiritual texts destroyed.
20 So the word of the Lord spread and grew in power.
