Neexistuje \u017eiadne empirick\u00e9, racion\u00e1lne a logick\u00e9 vysvetlenie, ako m\u00f4\u017ee pom\u00e1ha\u0165 memant\u00edn na kognit\u00edvne schopnosti v pokro\u010dilom \u0161t\u00e1diu choroby na b\u00e1ze excitoxicity. Memant\u00edn m\u00f4\u017ee degener\u00e1ciu excitoxicitou len spomali\u0165 alebo pozastavi\u0165. V pokro\u010dilom \u0161t\u00e1diu pom\u00e1ha\u0165 pacientovi memant\u00ednom je u\u017e neskoro.<br \/>\r\nLek\u00e1ri na Slovensku ani nevedia \u010do je to excitoxicita, preto\u017ee je treba ve\u013ea \u0161tudova\u0165 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Excitotoxicity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Excitotoxicity<\/a><br \/>\r\nOfici\u00e1lne m\u00e1 memant\u00edn indik\u00e1ciu len v stredne \u0165a\u017ekom a\u017e \u0165a\u017ekom \u0161t\u00e1diu choroby. To by sa vedecky dalo vysvetli\u0165 t\u00fdm, \u017ee ved\u013eaj\u0161\u00ed \u00fa\u010dinok v\u0161etk\u00fdch NMDA antagonistov sp\u00f4sib\u00ed zv\u00e4\u010d\u0161enie objemu nervov\u00fdch buniek, kv\u00f4li tomu, \u017ee vakuoly t\u00fdchto buniek naber\u00fa viac vody. Nako\u013eko Alzheimerik m\u00e1 scvrknut\u00fd mozog, memant\u00edn mu objem mozgu zv\u00e4\u010d\u0161\u00ed. Objemovo scvrknut\u00fd mozog Alzheimerika, nie je schopn\u00fd robi\u0165 &#8220;Mexick\u00e9 vlny&#8221;, \u010do mu zhor\u0161uje jeho kognit\u00edvne schopnosti.
